Well got fixed today! I’ve been blessed with an awesome little girl and she is perfect and I have no desire for anymore really just prefer the simplicity of having one child! Man reason I did this was to prevent and females from trying to trap me! Nuts are swollen and hurt but remember this minor physical pain will save me tons of mental/emotional/financial pain down the road!

I had one years ago. once the soreness wears off there’s no noticeable difference from before. Just that you can’t get anyone pregnant.

Forget saving you future pain, it can actually provide you with immense future pleasure. And I’m not talking about the worry free sex.

sipping ONE beer with the pain meds increases their ability to stop the pain..
more than one may kill you so be careful if you take my advice..
i had a surgery done a few years ago and the percoset wasn’t cutting it..
a beer with a straw let me sip it in slowly until the pain stopped..
first day was a blur..
third day came and i wanted OFF the damn meds..
( the first day is always the best…enjoy, hope your doctor hooked you up correctly….)..

If the pain/swelling bother you, ice it with a bag of frozen peas. It’ll pass pretty quickly.

Congrats, man! I’ve done the same. Funny story that, because my health insurance obviously did not pay for it because there was no strict medical necessity. So I told the anaesthetist I’d pay myself. He asked back whether I actually needed a formal bill. I answered, if he did his job properly, I would not need a bill. If not, I would be unlikely to care anyway.

Two things to watch out for you: in the first months, you are still shooting danger, so keep it at safer sex. Do a check-up after 3 months, another one after 6 and 12 months. Better safe than sorry, and the checks cost so much less than alimony.

Second, what style of vasectomy did you get? The crappy one with just tying a knod in the pipes? That has a frightening rate of spontaneous refertilisation! Or the “real” one, with cutting out an inch of pipe, sealing the loose ends and resewing stuff into different layers of tissue?

I bet that a vasectomy is also a good way to tell if a woman is cheating on you. If you started dating a girl after getting snipped and, shortly into your relationship, she brought out all of all this, “Honey, I’m pregnant – what are we gonna do?” crap, it’d be nice to be able to tell her, “Well, ‘we’ aren’t going to do anything. You’re going to go to the actual father and rag him about it, because I’ve been done.”

Sorry for the delay guys!! It’s now 11:30pm central time so 64 hours since vasectomy has been completed and I’m about 80% pain free! Insurance paid for everything dr. Told me most insurance will pay for all of it bc it cheaper to pay for a $500 vasectomy than pay medical bills for another kid for 18 years…all I had to pay was a $35 co pay…if I remember correctly he did tell me blue Cross Blue Shield insurance was one company that didn’t pay the full amount…I had the needle less scapeless vasectomy took longer to number me than anything! Pain on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the most serious I’d give it a 4….afterwards I was sore to the touch and after sitting for extended periods of time when I’d stand up it would hurt pretty good until I walked for a minute or two and stretched everything out! Dr told me he had been doing it a very long time and had never had one fail!! I go back in 6 weeks for a fertility test dr said it takes 7 to 14 ejaculations before all live sperm is cleared out! Medication was a Valium 1 hour before procedure and tylenol 3 after the procedure… Any other questions feel free to ask!

Anyway communication, real open communication, is not wanted or even required in a relationship.
