    Favorite team?….Players?….and Please, Leaf fans..take off the blue coloured glasses before commenting…

    Personally I’m a Sens fan and am having a lot of fun with the streak the Hamburglar is currently on. Hopefully he can tie Lalime’s record against the Rangers tomorrow, though admittedly I’m not hopeful. I think they can make the playoffs but either way it’s been a fun ride. Any thoughts?

    I’m from Minnesota, we’re almost Canadian (hell, we pronounce the word hockey pretty much the same). I played hockey as a kid and was a North Stars fan before for they got sold to Dallas. Naturally, I’m a Wild fan now. We seem to have a pretty good team this year with some really good additions. Getting in to the playoffs seems pretty likely this year but expectations are pretty low. Us Minnesotans have relatively low expectations when it comes to our professional sports teams (thanks Vikings, for setting that bar). Still love watching my home team though.

    On a somewhat unrelated note. I know a guy from high school, he’s Indian. Moved here when he was in elementary school and he’s never really embraced or assimilated the American culture. He’s a HUGE hockey fan and his favorite team is the Senators…weirdest thing ever.

    I’m Boston Bruins, however thanks to feminism in Massachusetts, I call them “the Boston Ruins”, but that’s me. I use to play hockey when I was a kid, street and ice.

    Hey Metal Head, 10,000 lakes is a great place for hockey, when they aren’t covered in snow. Thermometers shatter over there just like the mountains of VT. F~~~ing COLD! I skied Killington in June. They no longer stay open that late, asshole corporatist! They sacrifice quality for profit, eventually going broke in the process.

    I wish someone could figure out how to make synthetic snow and ice, skiing in the summer without a glacier would be awesome!

    P.S. they pronounce it here as: Hawhey, I say Hockey.

    @metalhead,

    Minnesota…oddly enough I was a fan of Minnesota back when they were the North Stars..I’m still p~~~ed they lost to the Penguins in the final back in 91. I’m actually surprised they aren’t doing better than they are…on paper they seem to have a fairly solid team. It looks like they should make a wildcard spot though so you never know.

    @MG Tower

    Nothing against the Bruins, they’ve had a great team the past few years, cup included..but you’ll have to forgive me for wishing the worst for them at the moment-lol…Sens are chasing them after all..and oh ya, Chara, Kelly, Chiarelli….all former Sens….your welcome.

    I couldn’t care less, they can all drink from the Charles River! I’m disenchanted with all things Massachusetts (feminism). Including the Bled-Sox! They’re a Massachusetts tampon! The NY Yankme’s are even worse!

    I don’t make many friends around here, they don’t like my attitude! F~~~ THEM!

    Leafs fan here. Not much to cheer about. It’s a good thing there aren’t tryouts to make the regular season or they might not make the league. I was so disappointed with them when they let the 4-1 lead slip away against the Bruins a few years back. I could feel the excitement drain from me as the Bruins chipped away at the lead. After they tied the game I felt so disgusted I couldn’t watch the overtime. I sneaked back into the house an hour later and checked the score. Just as I thought. That is the beauty of sport. The momentum shift. Digging deeper into one’s self to try to achieve the desired result. That is why I find playoff hockey to be so much more intense than regular season. Players giving 110 %.

    I’m in Alberta but just can’t bring myself to cheer for the Oilers or Flames. I lost a lot of my interest in the game when Gretzky was traded. I realized there was no loyalty anymore. I would have put the Maple Leaf on my chest just the play for them. They wouldn’t have had to pay me.

    I loved the game. It was one thing my parents didn’t have to push me towards. I recall the frozen toes as a youngster. I have even seen 2 pucks break in half on the goal posts at the school rink. It was that cold and they got brittle.

    Playoffs start today…after Ottawa’s near impossible run to the playoffs I’m looking forward to the Habs as a first round match up. Should be a great series either way. The race to Lord Stanley is on!

    Like Tower, I too am a Bruins fan, and I was disappointed in how they played this season. Players didn’t have their heads in the game, Claude not playing his rookie players, etc. etc. I’m hoping they get their asses in gear next season.
