My hat is off to any man who strives to master a difficult skill. These men did so with the electric guitar. I’ve left many out for the sake of brevity.
Dick Dale – the King!
If Jimi Hendrdix has a rival in my not-so-humble estimation, that guitar virtuoso is Dick Dale. The Ventures were no slouches. There is a lot more to the musicianship of drumming than banging on a box with some sticks!
The Shadows – Apache is another surf guitar classic, a true classic. (This is a cover by another guitar great.)
Saving the best for last. Did you know Jimi Hendrix admired the surf guitar? His famous remark, “Then you’ll never hear surf music again,” was meant as a R.I.P. for the untimely death of a surf guitar great. That man was Dick Dale, and Jimi was misinformed; Dick is still alive and kicking to this day.

Probably the most famous guitar riff of all time;
“Long is the way and hard, that out of Hell leads up to light.”
I love Dick Dale!!
Sometimes i help out at a friends place as a DJ and i always play a song or two… 😀
give us liberty, or give us death!
I’ve become lazy these days with guitar playing. But i’d recommend Rocksmith as a great practice tool for anyone who wanted to learn to play guitar.
There are flaws in it if but i found it great in terms of putting the focus in on playing.
I must say Dick Dale is not quite my kind of hero guitarist a) because I came more from the heavy metal type of background and b) because back when I used to play guitar myself I rather grew up with solo guitar heroes such as Jason Becker or Joe Satriani both of which I absolutely looked up to and for the most part still do.
To give you some examples to both of their amazing skills you might want to check out Jason Becker’s rocking end riffs on 11 Blue Egyptians (from about 28:04):
or Joe Satriani’s Satch Boogie:
or Joe Satriani’s Crushing Day:
Other than that do I even need to mention Yngvie Malmseen in that legendary guitar duel scene of the movie “Crossroads”…?
I'd rather die a natual death with a clear MGTOW conscience somewhere off the grid than one within "modern" civilisation with a big stress mark on my forehead and a couple of dozen tubes plugged into my body. Back to the plantation..? Me..? Hey, literally: I won't ever fucking kid myself...YZERLMNTSIC
Now I don’t know why those other two Joe Satriani links didn’t work. Let me try that one again:

Regarding the now infamous Prius Super Bowl ad, the background music is surf guitar.
