Here in Seattle we have a serious shortage of NLWs (Non Land Whales).  The few NLWs available are very well aware they are in short supply here and if you date one she’ll make sure you never forget it.

I’m not sure if it’s still the case, but we used to be second only to Silicon Valley for a poor male to female ratio. I would submit that we are even worse as the girls in SV are at least california girls, and on average in a little better shape.

Here in Seattle you have to date with a harpoon.

We also have an extraordinary concentration of both “She-girl man hating womyns studies majors” and religious zealots who have found common ground on their shared belief that male sexuality should always be used as scapegoat, or personal/material gain/control. Unless of course you have multiple warrants / facial tatoos and strong predisposition to violent/territorial behavior – then you may have carte Blanche and all legs are spread before you prostrate.

It gets old boys, but my kid and the rest of my family is here and that’s important to me, so here I stay.  Plus I make a pretty good living in tech here, so there’s that.

I’ll make it a point to send regular reports from the Seattle front as I do date here and practice a little game/PUA.  Women here are so used to the manginas deferring to their superiority that a guy who doesn’t is somewhat of a novelty and gets some of that bad-boy status without the face tats, and warrants. Some of the time.   Recently I’ve been hanging with a nice asian girl who makes exactly zero demands, pays her own way, and is always ready to offer a mini-massage.  We’ll see how long that lasts when she figures out I’m not doing the whole marriage thing. I’ve told her, but I think she thinks she can change me – where have I heard that before?

Thanks for the warning bro, and I think you’re right. Funny thing is, I’m actually not all that into asian girls. Don’t get me wrong, many are quite beautiful in my eyes, just not my personal first choice. I do have a great appreciation for the differences in cultural norms, especially when it comes to the way the ones I’ve dated are far more respectful of men and their needs/rights than most other women.  I’m in my early forties and the only women I’ve ever met that after I cooked them a gourmet meal they will start to help clean the kitchen without being asked are asian women.  That actually means a lot to me.  This girl would NEVER even THINK of asking me to put the toilet seat down in my own house.

Needless to say, she hasn’t been “Americanized.”  If she were, I would have dumped her a long time ago.  Funny thing is, she grew up in California, but deeply immersed in the Cambodian/Chinese communities and she exhibits more “traditional” values vis-a-vis men. So we’ll see where it goes  – certainly not to a wedding chapel.

Oh I also wanted to mention that I think almost ALL women follow that pattern to some degree. Miss sweet and nice and keeps herself in shape right up until the wedding ring is on the finger and then……….. bufwhaaam.  Land Whale.

You know what’s weird? My cousin is dating a married Chinese woman. He’s f~~~’in crazy and what’s worse I think they are eventually getting married. About damn time we got an Archer Avatar. Thought about moving to Seattle. Decided against it in favor of moving to another country pretty soon. Screamed feminist breeding grounds when I visited. Although it was pretty cool otherwise on vacation. If you do keep seeing this Asian chick make sure she has a mother who insults her on her weight and cooking. You ain’t just whistlin’ dixie bro. It’s definitely a breeding ground, but that actually has its perks too.  When I do online dating and in person(bars etc) I like to emphasize how *unfair* it is that women are judged differently for their sexuality.  I continue that I believe in total equality and women are equally entitled to experience impulsive  sexual gratification like one night stands without being judged, and that I certainly would never judge anyone for that.

That line of conversation has got me laid the very same night *numerous* times.

I’ve also noticed a trend lately where smart women in tech or related fields are doing things to diffuse the tension and VERY REASONABLE fear that we men must have of saying the wrong thing or looking the wrong way at them and getting sued. The girl that sits across from me has a “that’s what she said” button (makes the sound) and uses it.

I think the smarter women have or are starting to figure out that all the frivolous lawsuits have made them something to be feared in the workplace. That doesn’t make for a very productive workforce. Consciously or unconsciously,  it’s hard to WANT to work with someone who can literally end your career on a whim with even a *false* accusation, let alone a minor transgression that gets blown way out of proportion.  This is hurting women in the high tech economy and a few of them have taken the initiative to be the (slightly)potty mouthed one in the office or the one who makes the dirty/off color jokes.  This puts everyone at ease around them by giving them “permission” to use the language and references they really want to because she did it first, in front of multiple witnesses.

But I digress – this is a topic for another thread I think.
