I’m already signed up at GoingYourOwnWay, so I’m signing up here too. 🙂

I am a 50-year-old single (never married) male currently living in Northern Virginia. I haven’t had a real long-term relationship with a woman since coming of age — mainly because I have always preferred living alone. So in a way I was MGTOW for years before I ever came across the term.

When I was growing up, the world seemed to be divided between people who liked to harass others and people who pretended not to notice. My mother was a godawful person — quick to fly into a rage over nothing, violent, unforgiving, and perfectly fine to argue with my father over stuff that had happened thirty years before. (I was sitting in the kitchen listening to this and thinking, “I’m only sixteen. If Dad can’t be forgiven for stuff that happened decades ago, what chance have I got?”) A number of the females around my age were the same way. So I came away early with the idea that I’d never marry.

I was originally attracted to the MGTOW community via YouTube. People would post videos about their experiences with women, about people trying to shame you by saying you’re “not a man” or you “can’t get laid,” etc. Eventually I made my way to a number of MGTOW forums. I come to forums like this mainly to read unfettered information about what really drives women (and to some extent men), and not the tropes we’ve all been fed about the relationships between the sexes since we were kids.

I was employed for thirteen years and then laid off. The company decided that temps from India would be cheaper than having full-time employees, I guess. So I’m unemployed but living off my savings at the moment.

I am a “ghost” — I don’t draw attention to myself and I don’t socialize. I live frugally, for the most part; I don’t go traveling or spend time “living it up.” I am also pessimistic about my country’s future; it seems to be on a downward slide toward becoming another Greece: Our government is spending money hand over fist, and no one with any real power seems to care. So I hope to just live as comfortably as I can.

As for my interests outside MGTOW: I like to read, and I like to watch science documentaries and science fiction (Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica 1978, Lost). I’m very fond of H.P. Lovecraft and Clark Ashton Smith, and my favorite TV show when I was a kid was “Land of the Lost.” And I’m also one of no-doubt countless people in the world who’ve been working sporadically on a novel for years now (when I’m not reading up on how to write a novel that people will actually read). I have a dream that I’ll actually finish the damn thing, upload it to Amazon, and see a little income coming in from it.

Welcome!!! It’s nice to finally come across someone from the same area I live in. I live in Herndon. I’m half your age and I plan on not marrying, having any kids or any sort of relationship or from what I see on here a lot “relations~~~”. I came across this forum last year and I’ve learned a lot from others experiences and I don’t ever want to be in those situations. At the moment I don’t have the best job or make a ton of money but I enjoy what I do and the free time behind it. I use to be blue pill, white knight mangina and constantly get screwed by women for me being nice and getting used. So now I’m over them and everything that comes with them. You’ve come to a good place. There are a lot of great threads that talk about every single topic on women. Again nice to meet someone from the DMV area. My name is Sinti by the way. 🙂

Welcome! Do keep us up to date on your novel.

BTW, Dilbert did a series on writing a few days ago.

Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?

@ A-749, I know how you feel about America’s future, the calculator in my head doesn’t add things up. It’s imposable to ration away all the changes that are transforming this nation TO DEATH! 240 trillion unfunded liabilities, 18 trillion deficit, crash after crash, a bloating governmental monster of the likes never seen before, meltdown of the family, targeting opposition and using power to harm individuals (IRS, EPA, and thousand more acronyms). Government pensions that now far outclass the average citizen. It goes on and on and on… But it will end, and with it all civility in the final hour of one world government. I fear the stench of death will permeate all four directions on the compass.

Living MGTOW is the best security a man can have against this onslaught, that’s why it p~~~es me off to hear alleged MGTOW speaking of prenuptial as something that is legitimate and binding. A grenade is a grenade, a prenuptial is just a form of begging the grenade to explode in a specified way, it does nothing for the damage, or the extraction when the dust settles. Anybody talking prenuptial is tying the knot around his neck, and contributing to the institution of governmental matrimony. They should be flushed from the MGTOW community, and asked to join AVFM or MRA’S, that nonsense doesn’t jive with going your own way, and contaminates this community with toxic clam juice. NEVER GET EMOTIONALLY OR LEGALLY INVESTED IN A WOMAN, WHY? BECAUSE AWALT, and so is their hive!

    I see it three ways;

    1, the c~~~ carousel.

2, The Marry ‘go’ round and round (man slaughter extraction machine).

3, The MGTOW, from carousel rider to monk. (zero extraction, multitudes of cats, and their cat ladies)

    Does anybody see it different?

Great intro…and welcome to a great place with like minded individuals. So glad to see that you found peace in your decision to go your own way, and have been doing it for many years. Some men never figure it out and are destined to ride the Marry go round as Tower mentioned, and lose everything they ever worked for.

Looks like you have some cool hobbies there, and writing a novel can be a daunting task even for the most skilled writers out there. But keep at it, nothing great comes easy, and you’ll definitely have quite a few sells with all of us. I love a good book, especially something that has some sci-fi elements.

Welcome: I am new here as well but like yourself adopted the MGTOW lifestyle long before it was a cool acronym. I think it is hard for those people still munching on blue pills to accept that we aren’t gay (I assume gays would be on their own forums) and think that we can’t get dates for whatever reason. I used to play in bar bands for a living (!?) and I quite often had more pussy than hot meals, but eventually I realized I always felt empty and unfulfilled. Many years of heartbreak and  failed relationships followed, and I came to the conclusion I was better off living alone. It was hard at first, but soon I came to appreciate the solitude and lack of aggravation. Many people today are opting to stay single for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is trying to hold on to sanity in an increasingly insane society. My avatar represents the ‘red pill’ moment, when I discovered those sweet juicy nectarines I had been savoring for so long were in fact sour crunchy lemons. I’m glad I spit out the blue pill. Life on one’s own terms is the only way to go, and that applies to everyone here. BTW; Babylon 5 rocks!

Welcome. I am new too. I just want to say, you got 20 man-points for “Land of the Lost”.
Regarding your novel, write the last chapter, then work backward.
