    Thoughts??

Nice to see some fire breathing blowback scorch a few rotten apples!

Vermont still the same, nothing’s changed since the civil war.

I had three cousins in the South Carolina Palmetto regiment in Kershaw’s brigade at Gettysburg. Two of them died there. To my knowledge, no one in my family ever owned slaves.

99% of Confederate soldiers did not own slaves.

    They were too poor.

The south was defending their sovereignty, states rights & constitutional law.

It wasn’t a ‘Civil War’ – two sides were not fighting for control of the same government.

It was the War of Southern Independence.

Ultimately it was a lost cause.

But honor & glory does not reside in only victory.

May we always remember the brave warriors in gray: 1860-1865

You’d be surprised. Here in Texas there have been graveyards desecrated. Not just Confederate graves vandalized either, I’m talking Texas revolution, and the Mexican-American War. It’s been enough of a problem that there was bill before the Texas Legislature this last session to make it a crime to screw with any of it. The Confederate stuff was already protected, thank God, but the bill died believe it or not. I want to say that it’s going to get reconsidered in the special session that the governor has called. So we’ll see.

But yeah, to answer your question again… you’d be surprised.

I’ve been a civil war reenactor for many years. ( Federal infantry field musician) I’ve been to Gettysburg more times than I can count. I would have been there but I had previous committments for the July 4 holiday. Did any of those Antifa punks actually show up?

My great-great grandfather died for the Confederacy near Vicksburg. They never had slaves. Hell, they WERE the slaves, practically, farming their land themselves.

Sorry man. My bad. I just couldn’t see where you were coming from.

That side of my family were some mean, hardworking mother f~~~ers too. It’s a real good thing that they didn’t have slaves. My father and grandfather rode my ass hard when I was a kid. I had to work outside with plants and trees cause they owned a nursery. Been paying social security since 1967.

Antifa would never show their chicken s~~~ asses to any large confederate event. They are dickless cowards who cover their faces, and put 98Lb women on the front line while they jump out from the rear and attack. Antifa shows up at the wrong place and they are going to get rolled hard. Between the Proud Boys and Alt Knights these Antifa are going to get trounced harder at every event. And the Kekistani trolls have been getting Leftists to believe anything, as a distraction for the SJW attention and energy, and the reports have Antifa admitting the announcement that they were going to Gettysburg was most likely misinformation trolling. I don’t think Antifa has any idea what’s coming their way, it’s only just begun…

    Sovereignty above all else.

I wouldn’t be. I’d expect such behavior from liberals.

    Regarding slavery:

It continued after the war was over in 1865.

The northern states just practiced a more advanced form of slavery:

Importing poor immigrants to work in hellish conditions in northern factories as wage slaves.

The south was defending their sovereignty, states rights & constitutional law.

That’s a lie. An old lie and a comforting one, but a lie nonetheless.

As I did in an earlier thread, let me suggest you read the primary documents of the era and not the apologia which was created decades after the war. Loewen’s The Confederate Reader is an easily acquired source.

South Carolina’s secession ordinance actually argued against states’ rights because the northern states were intent on ignoring the Dred Scott decision and federal fugitive slave acts. All of the Confederate states’ ordinances followed South Carolina’s lead in explicitly naming slavery as the cause of their secession and subsequent war.

Slavery aside, the Confederacy is part of our history and must not disappear down some leftist’s memory hole.

Do not date. Do not impregnate. Do not co-habitate. Above all, do not marry. Reclaim and never again surrender your personal sovereignty.

I don’t know what’s worse, a moonshine militia or a bunch of dumb ass uppity brats saying their going to destroy something that most people don’t give a s~~~ about.
Either way, both sides can go f~~~ themselves with a cactus!
