that i will do thanks for the advice

s~~~ i did not know it was beaing run by sjws and its a big bulding in the middle of the city the dorm rooms are a 15 mintue train ride outside of the city and dam it ranks low. ya maybey i should look to transfer to another university after what you told me

While I find it hard to believe you couldn’t be bothered to perform a simple web search on a university you planned on attending for 4 years, especially seeing as you want to major in computer science, you should look into transferring.

Just how hard transferring will be is going to depend on whether or not the other school accepts course credits earned at NLU, something I wouldn’t bet on.

    what do you mean?

Ignore him. He’s either drunk, trolling, or both.

A word of advice on comp sci. I graduated in 1991, during a shirt job market. (right after Cold War ended and a lot of defense contractors in IT got laid off, and right after the Gulf War f~~~ed up the job market more)

You MUST do an internship in comp sci. After about the 2nd year of looking for work (1993) I started getting completely ignored (no interviews), apparently in favor of new graduates. Your degree has an expiration date as far as getting a job goes.

I went back to school eventually in 1999 for an MS degree. I got an unpaid internship in summer 2001 (had to drive nearly 2 hours each way, twice a week to get there) but I got a good letter of recommendation from that, which I took to an interview for a Fall internship (paid) at Northrop Grumman. I made over twice as much money there as an intern as I did at any of the other jobs I’d had since 1991. (data entry, retail, McDonalds, warehouse work, etc)

    I eventually got a full-time IT job.

On the positive side, getting paid so little meant I learned how to live on $50 month for food.

All my life I've had doubts about who I am, where I belonged. Now I'm like the arrow that springs from the bow. No hesitation, no doubts. The path is clear. And what are you? Alive. Everything else is negotiable. Women have rights; men have responsibilities; MGTOW have freedom. Marriage is for chumps. If someone stands in the way of true justice, you simply walk up behind them and stab them in the heart-R'as al Ghul.

    This, this, this, THIS.

Please read and heed what RangerOne is sharing. If NLU has no real internship program as part of it’s comp sci program, your time there will be a waste.

The internship should be something NLU sets up for you. They should have inks with all sorts of businesses in the region who want interns and will direct the best students to the best positions.

If there’s no intern program or if you have to set up your own internship(s), that’s another red flag for NLU.

Do not under any circumstance have any sexual or casual relationship with any women that go to your college.

If you are a young, poor student consider staying in Indiana and then taking the train into the city everyday. Do not walk around in zombie mode on a cellphone you will get jacked for it even in Mag Mile area. If you look like food you will get eaten. Stay aware of your surroundings and the people that are around you and you should be fine as the goblins will look for lower hanging fruit.

well i plan on taking computer science

Outside of your regular coursework try to contribute to open source projects. I can tell you from experience that what they teach you in computer science doesn’t even scratch the surface of what you need to know in the real world. They will teach you theory but the practical sense of development is something you will need to learn for yourself. Fortunately for you there is a lot of open source projects that are being developed and people are always need talent that can help out. Just watch and learn, when you have questions reach out to the folks on Stackoverflow, the dev community isn’t shy about collaborating or even chipping in to give you ideas.

    Thats’ very sensible.

With all the horror stories out there about what college guys are going through, If any campus chick asked, I would tell her I’m “engaged” or “gay”. Avoid at all costs.

    Good for you.

I don’t even speak to women at work about ANYTHING other than work. And I say it to their face.

    “So how was your weekend?”

“I don’t speak to anyone at work about anything other than work.”

    It works.

Wish you EVERY success in your studies.

If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.
