THIS is where we should be right now. THIS is how computers should be talking to people. THIS is how good voices should be like.

I remember speaking about this a while back. ITS the IMPERFECTIONS of human speech that give computer voices human like perceptibility. You can mimic any voice pattern, but its much harder to make it SOUND like a human.

Just like in emulating sounds on a synth, each tone has its special thing about it.

There is also a great book on this for those that want to get into the field. I hope some of you young men want to get into this field. you don’t’ need tons of school. Just the ability to code, and listen, and test.

Very interesting. I replaced my receptionist with a s~~~ test (voice menu driven answering machine, and self service appointment app). I am saving $50 000 a year (i.e. have many hours of leisure…) and do not have to worry about paying some bint to watcha phone that rings 20x IN A DAY. To have natural language like this will definitely be a boon- it will be “Business at the speed of light” if BOTH parties are computer AI- the computers could then skip Natural language and communicate (much like Wall street algorithmic trading). I would be able to order the cheapest/fastest goods getting the computer to do the legwork.

That’s scary. Talk about computers taking over the world… I’d rather go back in time where humans somewhat ran the world, not computers. Not good. I think Microsoft is correct in that we need some government guidance over this technology. I am beginning to feel like I am living in Minority Report or Demolition Man. Either way, I do not see this as a positive step for man.

Well this will be interesting to see how it plays out there are men who are looking for exactly this with their sex bots and will pay top dollar to get one that can hold a conversation with them. Of course the women will be in a uproar once this is applied to other applications outside of Google Duplex.
