Hello all. I have been on site for just over five months.
I am nearing 60, widowed and have no children. Had my wife not passed from cancer, I would not be here. Marriage for me was a good thing. What disturbed me when I reentered the dating world was one woman I dated for two months. She let it slip that she knew my home would have no mortgage. In Canada you need mortgage insurance before you can get a loan on a house. I am not dull or dim witted but I thought that women looked first at other qualities about a man and not just the size of his wallet. I also received life insurance from her policy. So we have no death taxes here and all her investments are transferred to me. This is what makes me attractive to women. My eyes are open. Now I blend in with society. I am also my own man. I am not really forum savvy so don’t expect greatness in posting links, images or quotes.

I want to thank one member that promptly sorted me out when I posted something violent in nature back in May. I also would like to thank Keymaster for this incredibly well sorted out forum. I appreciate the respect here shown to Men and I would like to be considered an equal. Phil.

Hey thanks everyone! I do tend to lurk or be wary. I drive a grey early 2000ish family car. I don’t dress flashy, no gold chains/rings/watches. I am trying to stay off the radar of any gold digging laydeez. It has been three years since I realized that women are out for money. You would think that any any man would have figured it out after a few decades of living. I appreciate the welcome and look forward to learning more and helping as I can.

Welcome Phil, WOW your story is almost identical to mine. I too in am in my sixties and I recently lost my wife of many years to cancer. Like you, I have the golddiggers eyeing my bank account instead of me. Unlike you, I have three grown children who are the crown jewels my life. I have pledged to them I will do nothing to jepordize my retirement or their inheritance. So be careful out there brother. You will never replace what you’ve lost so don’t try. Give youself a new set of priorties, keep your health good, and you’ll be happy the rest of your days. Lots of good men on these boards, a lot of collective wisdom. Listen well to what they say.
