Thanks and computer engineering? That’s awesome, I have a question though… How good is python for a beginner like me?

Im a terrible judge on that lol, at 19 for me, it was 1995, and I was playing with FORTRAN and COBOL, but didnt get serious about learning till I got out of the service, and then learned C++. . Python is closer to that, and some of compilers are so intuitive now, that it will save you hours and hours of sorting to find problems. My best advice is to just jump on the train now and just learn as you go.

I still keep a thumb drive specifically for bits of others code that I come across and find interesting, clever, or even just simpler that what Im using. Over time you learn to go back and refine. What type of stuff are you looking to do?

You’re a better man than I, lol. I use mostly industry standard software these days for work, and most of my coding involves game modification and personalizing, which is a hobby. All of the new talented coders are your generation. Im slowly becoming the obsolete older managerial type when it comes to coding, though it probably wouldnt be the case if I didnt work for who I work for. Any code tweaking gets picked up immediately by host intrusion and the agents from the Matrix are at my desk in a about 15 seconds. I did my first 2 semesters in college as a coder, realized how complex the field is, how talented the most of the other coders were, and decided to do a straight Computer Science degree with a focus in security and system protection.

Awesome and please don’t say that… For starters, all you have to do is to keep up with the current pace of technology et voila ! You are back in the game man, that’s usually the trick
