    What is Going Galt?

    According to The Atlas Society:

“Going Galt” means asking in the face of new taxes and government controls, “Why work at all?” “For whom am I working?” “Am I a slave?”

“Going Galt” means recognizing that you’re being punished not for your vices but for your virtues.

“Going Galt” means recognizing that you have a moral right to your own life, the pursuit of your own happiness, and thus to the rewards you’ve earned with your labor.

“Going Galt” means recognizing that you deserve praise and honor for your achievements rather than damnation as “exploiters.”

“Going Galt” means recognizing that you do not need to justify your life or wealth to your neighbors, “society,” or politicians, or bureaucrats. They’re yours, period!

“Going Galt” means recognizing that the needs of others do not give them a claim to your time, effort, and achievements.

“Going Galt” means shrugging off unearned guilt, refusing to support your own destroyers, refusing to give them what Ayn Rand termed “the sanction of the victim.” It means taking the moral high ground by explicitly rejecting as evil the premise of “self-sacrifice” that they sell to you as a virtue— in fact “self-sacrifice” is an invitation to suicide.

If you rescue a damsel in distress, all you will get is a distressed damsel.

Looked up the Atlas Society at Atlas Society as I hadn’t heard of it before.

A good quote from the author:

“My philosophy, in essence, is the concept of man as a heroic being, with his own happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity, and reason as his only absolute.”
    AYN RAND

Edit: this is going to be my new signature – I like this a lot.

    This is key.
The reason to work is to have enough money to purchase your own time and freedom. That’s it! If you have enough, consider taking years off work. Let me explain:

If you are rich as f~~~ but spend your whole adult life (until 65) working a job that you don’t really like, your money is useless. Chances are, your money is being spent by women in one form or another.

10 years after the avg retirement age of 65, your health is most likely failing you. Money won’t fix it.

MGTOW is not a movement, it is a way of life.

    That’s right.

I pay 23% of my income in taxes to support programs of people I don’t know and probably want me dead.

    F~~~ it.

To those following me, be careful, I just farted. Men those beans are killers.

Being a victim is the new norm and we can see how snowflake is using it to destroy society. Refuse to acknowledge the victim. She made her bed she can lay in it. White Knights need to “refuse giving them the sanction of the victim.”, and making life worse for all men.

    Great.

For me personally Going Galt means walking away from whatever i want to walk away. Just this year i walked away from potentially lucrative contract which required from me to work for an organization that most men would consider “enemy”. This is all i will say.

F~~~ money, i want to see me in the mirror with a smile on my face.

This is true on so many levels. So many retired men I know are tickled pink that they can finally stop working to be with their darling wife (if they’ve made it that far). Only to find that the wife is miserable all the time because he either doesn’t have as much as she would like or he doesn’t spend as much as she would like.

You have to read Atlas Shrugged to understand.

It isn’t an abbreviation, it’s a person and his ideal. His name in the book is John Galt, a fictional character that Ayn Rand created to show us an example of an ideal man. He shrugs, now known as going Galt.

She wrote the book in the 50’s and has become a cult icon. She clearly defined our world and the parasites in it. She predicted a scenario of our destruction led by media moguls, law makers and socialist idealists that demand that everyone is paid according to their NEED. The laws are changed and our society is destroyed.

Ayn boiled society down to producers and consumers. It is a delicate balance of the consumers ability to obtain free resources. They use authority to steal from the producers. There is a tipping point.

Ayn showed that all men are not equal. A few great men always out produce the average man. They should be societies heroic figures. Instead, they are vilified as greedy filthy pieces of s~~~. They must pay their victims the parasites that cannot survive/produce. It is only fair…

Why do you think the husband dies before the wife?

    Because he wants to.

Do not date. Do not impregnate. Do not co-habitate. Above all, do not marry. Reclaim and never again surrender your personal sovereignty.

Man Ayn Rand really understood where we were going, I look at the world around me and realize we are surrounded by the “Moochers” and how long before the producers realize it isn’t worth producing anymore as the moochers take too much and give nothing in return. She saw the s~~~storm and outlined it for us.

Wow. Just found this forum. I’ve been an admirer of Ayn Rand since High School. I also retired as young as I could afford to, and I have followed much of Rand’s philosophy as told through John Galt: “I swear, by my life and my love of it, that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine.” Some of my friends “get it” and noted that “I pulled off a John Galt” when I retired early. The parallels between Rand and MGTOW are noteworthy, and not at all surprising.

I’m considering that now. I’ve worked half my life and never received any Welfare support or assistance. I’ve paid hundreds of thousands of dollars into supporting parasites that rob my house when I leave for a few hours. Tax dollars that support Gang Banger’s food stamp hustle.

I’m sick of it. If it wasn’t for all the taxes I’m paying I’d be living in a nice house in the countryside already retired.

One of these days I’m going Galt. I’ve run myself ragged keeping this “Tower of Babel” called industry from collapsing and what a Thankless job it is.
