Glengarry Glen Ross is one of my favorite comedy movies. It has plenty of outrageous, foul-mouthed scenes.
Have you ever wanted to cuss out your supervisor at work? Well, let the character, Ricky Roma, do it for you:
"I saw that there comes a point, in the defeat of any man of virtue, when his own consent is needed for evil to win-and that no manner of injury done to him by others can succeed if he chooses to withhold his consent. I saw that I could put an end to your outrages by pronouncing a single word in my mind. I pronounced it. The word was ‘No.’" (Atlas Shrugged)
Anonymous12Never seen this film I might have to check it out.
Anonymous1This is a great film. I would never want to be a Sales-Man.

I once had a great sales job working with only guys. They let us goof off anytime and would only crack the whip if our sales plummeted. We were allowed to watch Glen Gary Glen Ross at work anytime we wanted to and I must have seen it a dozen times at that job. We had a pair of bronze b~~~~ and whoever go the best sale f the month got to keep them fo the month.
Great movie. Great MGTOW movie. I am not sure there is even a women cast in the whole movie.
I’ve never seen the entire movie only very short clips. Outstanding cast. The thing I learned the hard way, but glad I learned it, is that everyone is in sales, either buying or selling. It’s just that what is being sold and the consideration (what you’re getting for your trouble) isn’t always obvious if you’re not paying attention.
I used to hate selling and salespeople until my 30s where I had the pleasure of meeting a colleague who didn’t fit the salesman stereotype but he was the best at what he did.
He invited me to lunch essentially to thank me for a favor I had done for him even though he hadn’t 100% gone through the proper channels. I gave him a pass because he hadn’t been malicious just over eager. The lunch was to find out in detail how to get a better return on such requests in her future, without the friction from his initial attempt.
Here was a guy who easily made 5x my salary in total compensation, and here he is asking me how he can be better with a particular process where I was essentially the gatekeeper.
One lunch turned to two then two to four, and over the next few months I got a better education on sales than I had so far in my career at the time. That knowledge helped double my income in the decade since.
