I want to be a gladiator now

There was a series on gladiators i cant remember the name of it . The main actor died of cancer after they started the episodes , i think second episode in . Anyone know the name of it because i forgot but would like to see the episodes again .

You ought to see what Russell Crowe looks like now; he went from being a buff gladiator to an overweight defeated old man with a white beard. He went from kicking ass in the arena to now looking like he can play Santa Claus. Very sad.

His transition from gladiator to overweight defeated old man occurred about that time.

He was auctioning some very valuable personal collections because of the divorce. You could see the pain in his eyes.
Another example of an ultra Hollywood alpha hunk who got reduced to a broken old man because of a woman. He really seems like a good dude. Shameful.
