Ghost Story or Horse Story .. I kid you not

There is a farm about three miles down the road from me .. over the years, people around here have always said it was haunted.

It’s a tidy place with an old barn, older two story house that is starting to show it’s age .. and a couple of smaller sheds .. all the buildings are painted white and were probably built in the early 1900’s .. it’s rented out, the land is rented out .. people farm the fields but no one still lives there.

I recall that my Grandfather told me that the place was haunted and years ago teams of horses going by on the road would act up and not want to pass the place .. my Dad also told me about those incidents that happened probably in the middle of last century .. 1930’s or 40’s would have been the times they were talking about.

My aunt also told that story one time she was visiting .. and I’m just saying people who lived around these parts considered it a strange place.

Fast forward to today .. I had forgotten all about that place, and that story about being haunted .. I drive by it almost every time I go to town .. and never think twice.

…. today, .. one of my Amish neighbors who lives down the road was stopping by to talk to me about cutting down a large tree .. he is a logger and said he’d be here about 4:00 pm. He arrived in his Amish buggy after about 4:30 and I though nothing of it .. still, he said sorry I’m late ..

.. he said, my horse has been bothered by something during the past half hour .. that almost never happens, but today it was a problem and I though he was going to knock down a mailbox as he really started acting up .. I said, what mailbox? .. he said the old mailbox over by that farm .. the farm with all the white buildings.

You be the judge .. coincidence or not?

I must admit it gave me the chills .. because when he said the place .. that made me remember those stories I had heard as a kid about that same stretch of road .. passing that place, back when most farmers used teams of horses.

His Amish family hasn’t been here that many decades, maybe twenty years .. so he knew nothing about the old stories about that farm. That’s what made it interesting for me.
I’m tempted to hike over there some night and just look around. I can get there by just crossing a few fields. No one lives there, those buildings should all be empty.

Lots of materialists attempt to explain away all seemingly supernatural phenomena, and certainly many reports are fake, but there are also a large number of cases of independent observations of the same occurrences. I’m siding with the ghosts on this one.

In there time nothing changes except the people . Time is how we percieve it .

First time i divined for water i had a vision i was in a time long ago . It was like fresh . What seemed a long time i felt in another way it wasnt , hard to explain havent done it in a long time as i havent had a need to . I want to see if one of my kids have it and pass it on . But you have to clear your mind .

Makes me wonder what other gifts we have that is forgotton .

I do strongly beleave there are points on earth with what we dont know yet .

Yes, and I have a theory as to what might be spooking the horses .. all the way back to last century .. that is why I wish I could just stand at edge of field near that farm and .. listen.

Back when farms were built around here in early 1900’s .. if you had a spring with a decent water flow .. you were really lucky becaus you coluld install something called a “Water Ram”

.. there are still farms around here gtting their kitchen water using Rams .. and these machines havebeen running non-stop .. some since about the 1920’s.

The Water ram uses it’s own design and power of the water to pump water uphill to the faucet of the house .. from the creek or spring .. they work even during the cold winters ..

the farm where these horses act up “does have a spring” not too far from the road .. so my theory is that it is a “Water Ram that is still running” that is spooking the horses .. and has spooked the horses for about 100 years.
The Ram makes an “eerie sound followed by a pop or muffled echoy bang” .. as it pushes the water uphill and these sounds might be spooking the horses .. who knows? .. without anyone knowing why.

I’d be able to hear this sound if I was close enough .. someday, maybe I’ll investigate. I’ll talk to the guy who farms the place .. I know him .. and I’m sure he’ll let me check it out and see if there is a working Ram. If so, it might be located down the bank and hidden fairly close beside the road next to the stream. This farm likely had one .. and it’s been long forgotten but still operating.

I’ve never seen a ghost (and do not want to) except in movies. Probably it has some real-world answer. Animals can feel a lot more than humans. They have a lot better hearing and smelling. It may be infrasound due to wind and the shapes and placement of stuff, some chemical stuff in air we cannot smell and causes hallucinations, or some other physical stuff the animals cannot understand and are scared of. (maybe, electric or magnetic field, radioactivity, vibration, whatever?)

Well, as you describe, a water ram would make perect sense. Low frequency sound travelling in the ground around that area, the animals can feel that, and/or hear it.

Check into the areas history on occults . Quige boards people would burn them or throw them in the bin . Anything to do with occult . Wells are places demonic spirits like to hide .

If it is from the pump the reason to the spooking of the horses it would be intresting .

But i have noticed the beleaf in certain points on the earth as having like energy spikes .

Animals can be affected by demons. There is the example of the demons who possessed a herd of pigs and ran them off a cliff into the ocean.. (Matthew 8:31-32)

I had a black lab that was scared s~~~less of an oak tree in my backyard. The tree was huge and next to the walking path to my back door. Every time we walked by the tree my dog would go way out of the way to get around the tree. She wouldn’t walk with in 15 feet of it, even if I called her to me, as I stood by the tree, she would not obey, and act all weird.

She had bad seizures when she got old. On the day she died she had a seizure, and fell right next to the oak tree. she breathed her last breath, and died in the exact spot she was scared of. Did my dog know she would die in that spot? Very strange.

A relation of mine said he used to see ghosts/spirits – I’m not joking.
He said some were just hanging out.
After he became about 25 he gradually stopped seeing them.
