Lately I have found myself getting more and more depressed and discouraged about the horrific decline in civilization. From the ghetto trash music that is pervasive among today’s youth (and not so young), declining values, lack of respect for each other. Is it just me? This is pushing me to ghost more and more. I find myself at work just concentrating on my job and trying to avoid as many social interactions as possible.
I am in my mid 50’s and recall during my youth the role models were different. Neil Armstrong walked on the moon and was respected – you would hear among boys “I want to be an astronaut”. Music from the Beatles and similar performers inspired kids as did other classic and classical artists. Today, this new generation turns on some s~~~ hole reality TV show with the star of the week who is more than likely devoid of any real talent and who’s music is vapid and innocuous computer generated junk. Most if not all cannot even read music, let alone read a book.
As for women, yes their nature has always been to hypergamous and self serving – but it is at an entire new level today. From Slut Walks to loud obnoxious duck faced teenagers roaming the streets and malls – it is no wonder more and more young men are fleeing society. Politicians? Few of them were ever noteworthy – but let’s compare yesterday’s (Ike, JFK even Reagan) to the bunch of Buffoons being offered up today.
How anyone could consider having children today, at least in Western society, is beyond me. Would you take on passengers on a sinking ship? It seems to me those who procreate are more concerned about themselves than their future offspring. Thoughts?

Look at it this way. Given civilization, as it is, currently screws us over every way it can, the collapse of civilization may not be a bad thing. While such an event may kill us, it may offer opportunities for us. Even opportunities such as finding a women to have children with, without worry of the courts taking everything away from us and making us debt slaves. That woman is going to be faithful to you, if she realizes she has nothing to gain by betraying or leaving you.
Either way, this purgatory we find ourselves in will be over. And we will either be dead or be able to begin to rebuild things they way they should be.
The way I see it every generation comes to see all the negatives and think the world is about to end. Yet it hasn’t happened yet.
And there’s a quote I always think of with conversations like this, from Jurassic Park. “Nature finds a way” Point is that there’s almost always some variable, some factor that we don’t consider when we think we’ve got the world figured out. Nature is always trying to get to a stable state.
So I am thankful that although being divorced in my 40s isn’t ideal, it is so much better for me then it was for 40 year olds 20 years ago. Yes, my kids have to grow up this world, but my son can be happy without ever falling for the marriage trap same as the others of his generation. He’s 11 and already told me he thinks girls are crazy. I am concerned about my daughter, but she will have the opportunity to be happy if she can accept responsibility for herself and actions.
Ok. Then do it.
On the other side of the coin, you now have more computing power in your pocket that what was used to put a man on the moon. You now have the ability to communicate around the world with a group of like minded men. Our governments have had their ability to lie to us severely limited by social media.
Being in your mid-50’s you’re only a couple years older than me. I would say that we were on the front lines of the feminist wave storming the beach at Normandy. We were some of the first to grow up with the “equality” thing. Remember the old commercial about the girl who could bring home the bacon and fry it up in the pan? Yeah, you go girl!! And we all bought it, because we were stupid enough to think that feminism was about equality. The women our age were sold a bill of goods that they could do anything AND everything.
Then when they couldn’t have their cake AND eat it too, they were left struggling to figure out why. Since it couldn’t be their fault, they blamed men. And they blamed us, the men that took on more to make sure that they had their shot at “having it all”. I guarantee you that I did way more around the house than my dad ever did. And I don’t say that wishing for the good old days. Fact is, the work isn’t very hard. Actually it’s really f~~~ing easy.
You and I were the first generation that got hit with a post-wall whale that still expected to be valued for her brains and her beauty. And if she got fat, well you just love her anyway, even though she had zero love or respect for you. We also most likely got married before the internet was much and didn’t have this resource come to. You and I are the cautionary tale. We were the generation that was blindsided by the “new age woman”. Now everyone can come read for themselves what to watch out for.
To be honest that’s what keeps me coming to this website. If I can stop one wedding from happening then my work here is accomplished. And to anyone reading this, if I really can stop one wedding from happening by reading this, then it deserved to be stopped. They had no foundation to begin with.
So, I guess where you see destruction, I see improvement. In many ways we live in the best times ever. And I can’t imagine ever going back to the plantation, so I am happy to be a freed slave. As for society, it will eventually get better. I don’t know how or why, but people are social creatures and want to live together. Especially women. They will either adapt or we die off as a species. Look at it this way, if 3/4th of the world’s population were to die off, and everyone that was still alive got to live in the top 1/4 of the places in the world, would anyone have anything to bitch about?
You just need to find the other divorced guys your age in your area. They are generally all good dudes that got f~~~ed over. It’s funny, about half the ones I know still have the pussy addiction and think NAWALT. The other half say the juice isn’t worth the squeeze. You can guess which half I hang out with.

Sadly Truthseeker, the decline was totally a planned event…Brought onto us by a class of people that have no idea the horrific day to day life that they have brought down upon millions of people, not only do they have no idea, they simply do not care in any sense whatsoever at all…They live in a world you and I and all the men on this site have never even seen, nor would most of us even believe exists…They are shielded from anything and everything that exists in our world…The worst part for us at least anyway is the dadgum timeline of this “collapse” is dragged out over several generations, leaving us with no hope for any change in our own lifetimes…There is no end in sight, every single time I thought were close to being able to watch it all go down in flames, some branch or group finds a way to stretch out the inevitable just a while longer, and for what reason??? Money…Plain and simple, these people stretching out the inevitable believe if they can amass just a little more wealth, they too will be “shielded” from the collapse…But little to their understanding of the bigger picture, they too are blind to the mendacious ideals and plans of the elite…There is no shielding from what is too come, none…So in my mind the sooner it happens, the sooner we can rebuild, regrettably I am beginning to believe the collapse will not even happen in my lifetime, then again who knows, we have all seen with our own eyes how quickly everything can change overnight with just a few simple events…So who knows, maybe tomorrow, maybe 30 or 40 more years of this contaminated sludge…

I agree man. When I got in my late 20s I started to really become disgusted with society in general. Mainly things like feminism, white guilt, so much politically correctness, everyone being offended by everything, fit shaming and glorifying fatties, ever increasing government debts, and the list goes on…
But what I realized is I don’t have to live a traditional lifestyle in a society that doesn’t want to play by the traditional rules. I can just opt out as much as possible…yeah I’ll still have to pay my taxes, but I can stockpile money, retire young, and simply go live abroad in a country where the cost of living is much lower and maybe their people are a bit more to my liking than what American people are turning into.
On one hand its like a kick in the nuts that I won’t have that traditional life I was raised to believe was what we should all want…but on the other hand there is no reason I can’t retire 20-25 years before my dad or my grandfather had the opportunity to. That is a hell of a lot of time I’ll get to enjoy a life of leisure, and I’ll still be young and fit enough to where retirement isn’t going to be retire at 65 drop dead of a heart attack at 71 which is the s~~~ty deal a lot of guys get.
So basically boo hoo…I won’t have a Leave it to Beaver family, but I’ll probably end up retired on a beach f~~~ing hot prostitutes whenever I want by the time I’m 40. I don’t really see much to complain about with a life style like that…especially considering how a lot of guys I know that tried the traditional family route just ended up divorced and they won’t even be able to start seriously saving for retirement til their 50’s when they are done paying off their court mandated divorce penalties of various types.
focus on the positive and enjoy your life. you can’t control the direction society takes.

You might be able to pull that garbage on the younger people on here and fool them, but not with older guys like me around.

Today’s kids at least aren’t drug addicts. I’ve even read the kids today have less sex and have sex later.
That asshole Reagan is the one that started shipping jobs off and introduce No Fault Divorce, which has caused probably the most harm to families in American history. JFK was decent, he was an admitted liberal and socialist, because he actually believed people shouldn’t be starving to death or have no opportunity when America is such a wealthy country. That is why the oligarchs killed him, and now have a full court press against anyone that believes in kindness, charity and virtue.

Try to intellectually deal with it and realize that your experience and perspective can change, I have come to accept things for what they are and not despair because I see a culture being destroyed. .

He is totally correct here eh…Teen births have plummeted about 57 percent over the last 30 years…And on top of that teens today use far less tobacco, alcohol, and drugs, it is a fact…I am not sure if this is due to the smart phone revolution or what…If I were to guess, it has a least part to due with that, teens now have direct access to pertinent information regarding everything from sex to vaping…He is right, this was started on us long before now, and I stated above, has been drug out over several generations…

But when you look at the kids today (age 12 to 16) they´re almost unable to communicate without the help of their smartphones, using it like a crotch. They go like, take a look at this and let me show you that…, they appeal pretty lost to me, getting educated by youtube and streams. Education got a lot worse too, they show no respect and they seem to have no moral foundation anymore.
Kids beating up elderly people in the subway,just for fun, things like that would not have happened 20 years ago, or is it that we just get to know that kind of stuff because there´s so much cameras around?!

It is odd isn’t it? It’s like the Tale of Two Cities, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.” On one hand, life has never been easier. Hell, you don’t even have to vacuum in your house if you don’t want to. Just turn on the Rumba and walk away. Food has never been easier to get, poverty in the US means a smart phone and cable tv if you are on welfare.
On the other hand, society is rotting, at least at the top end. Phoenix nailed it. So, on a micro level life is at it’s best and getting better, but on a macro level things are pretty f~~~ed up.
Is that intentional? Is the micro comforts hiding the big picture plan? I know a lot of guys will say yes. I’m not sure, but what the f~~~ to I know?
I’ll give you one from my world that I just heard last week. Most of you hear about the evil corporations not paying their taxes right? Well, from the IRS’s view, US companies are so compliant with the tax code that they are changing their strategy for auditing large corporations. In the past, large corporations would have every year audited. In my company, they have their own office in the building because they audit every return we file. Most people don’t know that. GE pays their fair share, they have a team of IRS agents auditing every return. So when someone bitches that they didn’t pay any tax last year, it’s because they lost money and didn’t owe. Or lost money in a prior year that offsets the income they made this year. If you don’t think the tax code is fair, that’s fine, but the company is compliant with the law. If they weren’t why would the IRS change the process and go to auditing issues regardless of the taxpayer and stop the continuous audit. Hell, I was called a client!!
Somehow, I don’t think that Apple, Rumba, and all of the other companies are “in on it”. I just don’t think you get that many people/companies involved without someone spilling the beans. I would guess that the people at the top saw that we were distracted and are taking advantage. I was probably more shocked than I should be when I heard about the Panama Papers. You hear about those types of situations theoretically, but to see the proof is pretty amazing.
I guess the lesson for you Truthseeker is that you aren’t alone. Many of us wonder about the same thing.

We saw things with a different perspective as young people and we have to be aware of this.There’s lots of hope and opportunity to look forward to in any adversity.
What is perceived as the downfall of civilization could be engineered to be an elevation in your own relative status and contentment,,,,if you attack the issue head on with a view of your own needs and wants.The US is showing all the signs of Rome before its collapse, and Rome was around for 1000 years or so. That’s what happens when the top 1% gives no f~~~s about anything but more money.
The sad thing is, occupy wall street had it right, but people have the attention span of a gnat these days, so the media delegitimized the movement and then went into divisiveness overdrive…and people bought it.
Now everyone hates each other. Everything is racist, sexist, etc. I honestly believe that Trump is our last hope. The media calls him racist because the top 1% are worried. In fact, he is the ONLY person I’ve heard say that we need to be all inclusive, and that means everyone. Meanwhile the elite want to continue their divide and conquer because it benefits them.
Decadence and social decay are things that come and go throught history.

Anonymous12The way I see it the pendulum was just starting to swing to the Left when the OP was born, some of the things he mentions like the Beatles for example were radical back then and the Beatles became Loony Lefties towards the end anyway.
Now you have the pendulum starting to swing back to the centre right as more people see all these new fangled ideas have failed. They want something more secure because the good times are long over.
And that is when you actually get progress – When things get bad. When things are good everyone gets lazy and complacent.
