Hey fellas
Was thinking of getting a weight bench for my house since I dont always have the time to make it at the gym.
Any one have a good idea if they are good to own and any reccomendations about one ?
Thanks

Anonymous1I use my home gym at least 5 days a week. The rack I use is a Hammer Strength Multi/Combo with safety supports to catch the bar when I give out. I also use the rack for squats, shoulder presses and bent over rows. You absolutely need a safety bench if you lift without a spotter.
In addition to just a rack, you are going to need Olympic weights/bar and bench. I recommend an adjustable bench – incline/flat or incline/flat/decline. I use a Legend incline/flat but wished I had purchased the 4-way model. Plus, you can use the bench for a lot of different exercises.
Make sure you have room for the equipment. An Olympic bar is 2.2meters or 7.2 feet, and you need two to three feet on each side to set the weights.
Since I competed in armature body-building when purchased, I wanted decent equipment. I got lucky with finding Pro-Gym equipment at a really good deal, as a local gym was going out of business. Funny now that I’ve gone my own way, I have more money to spend on nicer things for me.
Now the reality for most people that I’ve met over the years is that they get a low-end bench and it winds up becoming a really large expensive coat rack.
Good idea! Get the kind where the barbell is caged — so that you do not end up with a tragic accident involving a crushing weight upon your throat or chest.
My next door neighbor has a professional weight machine in his garage (the cars live in the driveway). He decided buying one of these was a better deal than a gym membership. Happily for me, he lets me use it. BTW, he is really buff, and I mean really.

Power cages are where it’s at. I use them because I train alone.
If not, dumbbells.
Fuck this planet.Bought a power cage this year, because I was tired of driving to the gym. So instead of one or two days of pumping iron I work out at least five to six times a week. Payed about 1000€ for the cage plus equipment but it is way cheaper and more efficient than the gym.
So at least it is definitely a good idea.
