This gentlemen is and has been my vice. After my divorces I got into gaming it became an all consuming obsession. Hours on end Every day, vacations holidays. I made the raids, had the best gear in the game. Guess I used it as part of a way to separate myself from society. Form the other obsession I had post divorce.
Took me a while to ask the question why am I doing this. The game items are really the property of the company running the game. You always have to be in game and going on the raids to keep in the top tier of the game. I could sell gear but if you are a raider that is really frowned upon and so not cool.
At the height of this I had 3 desktops, a laptop and 2 game consoles. I tried to stop cold turkey that lasted all of an hour. So started in steps. Dropped out of raiding guilds. Next I stopped the payments for gaming. Only playing online free games. Then as the gear crashed like all computers do, I did not replace. I am down to one console I have not turned on in so long it has a nice dust covering, and two lap tops. Need the laptops for other then gaming.
In a few hours it will be 24 hours I have not logged into a game in a very long time.
One step at a time. One day at a time.

Good on you brother. Good Luck with your new quest.
Feminism isn't about equality with men, it's about leverage over men.
Anonymous14I am playing right now! KEK!
I use to play World of Warcraft, before the community went sideways. A good raid can be fun, especially if alcohol is involved with either the tank, or healer. Listening to the other players slowly get drunk on vent was always entertaining. Progressing the raid dungeon took a backseat to this entertainment.
You can be entertained for the evening while not getting anywhere in the game.
But, the community changed and I had to move on.
Right now I am playing Fortnite and non-raiding SWTOR until something comes up. I am looking forward to Ship of Heroes and Cyberpunk 2077.
I’m a gamer when I have time. I see gaming as a distraction, like any form of entertainment. As long as I’m dealing with my issues and getting s~~~ done, I don’t feel guilty when I play games or watch tv.
I don’t play MMOs anymore as they are typically designed to be a time-sink. After a while I realized the juice was not worth the squeeze. Now I stick to single player games I can save and quit anytime. No more worries about missing out, falling behind, or letting people down.
I hope you find some way to balance your life with your distractions brother.
Self-improvement is my religion. Sovereignty is my god.
I love playing video games occasionally. I used to play often, but as I grow older, I play less.
I’ll never fully stop, because there are times when it’s exactly what I want to do.
It’s not an obsession, but it wouldn’t matter if it was. It’s my time to enjoy doing whatever the f~~~ I please.
Women like to shame men for playing video games, but it’s entertainment. The same women likely wouldn’t feel shame for watching their ridiculous reality TV shows, so who gives a s~~~ what they think?
"I've been thinking about what it would be like if we got back together."
"You know it's too late for that."Video games better than wives.
A MGTOW is a man who is not a woman's bitch!
When I’m not playing a load of Pokemon, I can’t stop playing Senran Kagura. Good lord I love that series. Bunch of hot chicks kicking each others’ (well-shaped) butts, ridiculous breast physics, overt in-your-face sex jokes, and an abundance of waifus.
Much cuter and more fun to watch than chicks in real life these days.

After spending 92% of their waking lives on Faces~~~ and Instac~~~ with a cell phone tethered to her ass.
If women ran the world = It would become the shithole you are seeing.
I grew up gamin through the 80s/90s, and slowed sown in the 00s.
Did the Wow thing when it was new and shiny, but saw the juice / squeeze equation diminish so never went on to play the expansions.
Theses days I rarely game, but it’s a subconcious decision that games improve steadily over 5 years, so I don’t burn out on playing the good titles to death and play mindless rubish.
I usually look for single player games, although hope that online games steadily improve with time. I avoid subscription based games as it’s usually code speak for grinding till the cows come home (spoiler – there not coming home).
"Society is to blame" Denton
My philosophy is focus on gaming, working on side businesses and self education when you’re not at work. Save money not going to movies, clubs, bars, dinners and all the basic s~~~ and instead save on buying assets like stocks, bonds, real estate or a decent vacation for yourself.
Well I’m being forced out of gaming by the lack of equipment. My PC (2012) is getting too old for new games and won’t run the Win 98 and XP games I would love to play right now!
