It depends much upon your body type. Some have a low metabolism, and thus gain weight with ease. Others can eat to their hearts content, and not gain weight at all.

If you are like me, and have a high metabolism, you might find it helpful in the drinking of protein-shakes mixed with carbohydrates. Doing this will ensure that you muscles have everything they need to rebuild after a workout.

But the best way of gaining weight is to base your meals on a high protein diet. Natural proteins which occur in meat is (many claim) better than chemically produced shakes.

It all depends on how much weight you wish to gain. Continuous workout and healthy meals is always a safe place to start.

    Good luck mate!

I know where you’re coming from on gaining weight. I’m 43 years old and I’ve weighed 140 lbs since high school. I would love to gain another 25 lbs. I’ve got plenty of muscle structure with the job I do. It’s like a 12hr workout man handling 1000 lbs products for 12 hrs a day. Plus I spent 6 years as a logger and working in the sawmills after highschool. So I’ve got the muscle. The problem is that I’m to damn skinny as my ribs are visible. It’s not that I don’t eat. I’ve tried the body mass shakes. Think they are a waste of money. So if you findout any good ways please let me know. I think that’s my problem with women. Think would not be caught dead being with a guy that weighs less then they do. They think that I’m some skinny runt. But, actually I’m a pretty strong motherf~~~er. I can hold my own to guys twice my size. I’m one of them guys that will suprise the f~~~ out of you if it ever becomes physical.

Intermittent fasting, eat one large meal at a very slow pace, it does wonders : )

Also, organic apple cider vinegar mixed with water before and after every meal.

    Lots of walking!

And also the “root” of the issue, delve into whatever self worth issues u have that causes u to eat unconsciously ect.

Shrugs, only eat whole foods. If the back label has a large list, don’t eat it.

    Good luck on ur journey!

Try Risperdal. The side effects it had on me is that I went from 215 to 250 pounds in 3 weeks. Then again, it’s for mental conditions, not for those to gain weight.

Just workout, indulge in protein (amount of grams per body weight). Do research on supplements, ask a gym trainer, go to YouTube. Do your homework.

I gained a lot of weight and not trying to, but I’m trying to lose 50 pounds and it’s going super slow.

    Look up Mark Rippetoe.

It’s the most straightforward lifting plan. Only five lifts. All the big ones centered around the squat.

    Eat. Eat. Eat.

    Fairly simple.

5×5 strong lifts is a good one. Bench, squat, dead lift, back row, should press.

Make sure you’re eating a surplus of calories. A cal counter app will be very useful for this.

Check out clean gainer, 560 cal shake, easily digested and good carbs/fats.

Go slow and focus on the mind muscle connection. All to often people try to move up in weight then injure them selves. You will find a better workout when moving in a slower controlled manner.

I thought what I'd do was I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes...or should I?

i made it from 60kg (skinny untrained) to 75kg (athletic) in 1,5 – 2 years by doing the following:
    – work out with heavy and functional multijoint exercises (backsquats, frontsquats, overheadsquats, deadlifts, pullups, overheadpress, benchpress)
    – Keep cardioworkouts short and very intense 5-12min and try to do sprintingworkouts, bodyweightworkouts or do the same functional multijoint exercises with lesser weight but faster.
    – Make urself a good shake everytime u want (i did it for breakfast and after workout) blend together some oatmeal, Avocado, coconutoil, proteinpowder, cinamon and milk.
    – Buy milk with Long shelf life and add a Liter of milk additionally to your other meals every day (for brunch or in the afternoon)
    – Always have tasty scrambled eggs, backed sweetpotatowedges or grilled potatoes in your fridge which u can heat up and eat everytime u can get something into your stomache
    – get yourself a fudge from time 2 time (1-2 a week) it’s not that healthy but if you work out a lot i think u can absorb the damage it does and will not feel bad and it’s extremely tasty.
    – a shotglass of good olive oil from time to time is also a nice Booster (40ml = +360kcal)
    – Listen to your Body and do not hurry, take your time gaining weight, strength, power and muscle, the slower the Progress the easier and more comfortable it is to maintain it.

it’s hard and you might have to push yourself but it’s worth the effort
    Wish u lots of success!

    Yeap, that’s true.
Simple walking can save your money and your figure. for myself, I’ve uploaded Map My Walk (this app is available for Android and IOS), you can get it here. You would log and record your activities and you can control yourself.
And when you record your achievement, becomes easier to motivate yourself.
