Anonymous1I enjoy playing chess on my laptop @ chess.com/play/vs computer. (not MGTOW’s chess game.)
Problem, 30 % of the time I get a pop-up that can not be deleted. The ONLY way is to turn off the P.C. And, of course when I do so I lose the thread and the game disappears.
Is there any way I can deal with this God damn problem ?
Adaware!
Lots of free blocks out there. Just be careful, make sure you trust the source.
I fail to understand what pop ups you get with chess.com, never experienced this.
But what you can do is to use for example: Firefox browser with No Script Add on, add in Ad Blocker and you should be ok. Additional benefit is also that you can disable all the script that are following you all over net, but it is not bulletproof solution.

What anti virus protection are you useing?

Anonymous42What ads? Where? I don’t see any?
Get Malwarebytes and AdwCleaner and run a scan to make sure your computer is clean of anything. Afterwards get Ublock origin for your browser and that should get rid of the ads even if you need to add new scripts into it (some websites need it others don’t).
Just an east coast asshole who likes to curse, If you get offended by words like fuck, cunt, shit, piss, bitch or any racial slurs then you just scroll down.

https://adblockplus .org
And Ghostery.
It allows you to target any add on the page.Ghostery works well with adblockplus that Tower linked too.

UBlock Origin is a Chrome extension popup blocker that works very well at eliminating popups when using Chrome. Useless otherwise.

It is NOT chess.com, but rather it is chess.com/play/computer.
You will not see any ads until you start playing and even then only 30% of the time. Sometimes it happens well into the game.

I’m not sure what the name of my virus protection is. Whatever comes with windows 10.
To all the other guys: I’m just an old man and I don’t know hardly anything about computers or malware or ad blockers. I just kinda stumble along.
Get yourself the following:
1) Adblock
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search/adblock2) AVG Anti-virus (Free)
https://www.avg.com3) Super Anti Spyware (Free)

Disable notifications in Windows 10 or chrome, in whichever you are getting ads.
Show us a screen capture of what happens. And for god’s sakes, get RID OF JAVA!
You are all alone. If you have been falsely accused of RAPE, DV, PLEASE let all men know about the people who did this. http://register-her.net/web/guest/home
