Had a prospective client in here yesterday wanting to sign up for healthcare. She is divorced, no kids, and receiving about $800 per month in alimony. That was decided when her health insurance was $400+ per month.

She earns enough to qualify for a subsidy now, paid for by us good hardworking tax payers. So her health insurance is under $150 per month after the subsidy. Takes in the $800 in alimony and the c~~~ had the audacity to chuckle about it. $650 per month that will be spent before it’s even in her wallet. Oh and she’s a hairdresser who works barely 20 hours per week.

I’ve had numerous, 15-20+ older folks come in to talk about purchasing health insurance. At least 75-80% were all divorced.
