Florida reps vote down bill banning "assault weapons"

We see the agenda, crack down on firearms. Fortunately in Florida, the house isn’t falling for it. The bill was designed to prevent the sale and possession of “assault” weapons. The motion failed 71-36. I’m not a gun owner or advocate, but i also don’t want to see the U.S turn into the UK or Australia.

If you meet someone who supports bans such as these, and have their panties in a bundle about “assault” weapons, ask them how many people are murdered each year in the US by use of a Rifle.

If they support such actions as banning so called assault weapons, they will generally cough up a number like 20 thousand or 15 thousand.

Nope, less then 500 and sometimes less then 400 in a year. (FBI stats) The media carefully conflates gun deaths with rifle deaths.

Not that it will change any minds, the usual response is……well even 1 is too many.

I have read that an estimated 8 million AR-15 rifles are in the hands of Americans. I have also read that a lot of people say they are good for nothing but killing people. 8 million AR-15’s………and just a very tiny fraction of those have been used to kill innocent people. If they are that dangerous, with 8 million of them out there, wouldn’t there be a whole bunch more people dying from AR-15 shots?

I am so f~~~ing sick of these idiots trying to get these rifles banned. I swore I would never own an AR-15. The rifles I had were just fine and I didn’t need an AR-15. However, because of all the f~~~ing bulls~~~ I’ve heard from these f~~~ing stupid people who say they should be banned, I went out and bought one. It’s because of all those idiots that want them banned that I now own an AR-15. That was the main reason I bought one.

F~~~ them and anyone else who tells me I don’t NEED one and that I shouldn’t have the right to own one. F~~~ you all. You know what I’ve killed with my AR-15? Pieces of paper and steel targets are all that I’ve shot with it. It is a good home defense weapon. They also say that it’s not a hunting rifle. Sure seemed to work good for my son when he shot his first deer with his AR-15. One of the best tasting deer I’ve ever eaten.

My response to a major gun ban will be to print out 500,000 copies of a pamphlet with detailed instructions on how to make a FULLY AUTOMATIC WW2 Sten gun, and hand them out to every drug addict, drug dealer, criminal, and ne’er do well or anyone that I think can find said individuals (since I lack familiarity).

Then watch the f~~~ing c~~~ totalitarian liberals do that hand wringing when people start getting blown away with Sten guns that no gun company made.

We can’t let them ban s~~~, because once it starts, then they’ll just keep going until no one will be able to legally own any type of firearm. I’m proud to live in a country that allows me the freedom to legally own a FULLY AUTOMATIC rifle. All I need to do is buy the tax stamp and spend 10’s of thousands of dollars that I don’t have on the damn thing, but at least I can legally own and operate a full auto, if I could afford to buy one.

Why would anyone need a fully automatic weapon? Who gives a f~~~? Go f~~~ yourself for asking the question. It’s none of your damn concern to tell me what I can and cannot own. Anyone trying to tell me what I have the right to own….I’d like to bash them in the head with a rock rather than waste a bullet on them from my AR-15.

Not a bad idea BUT there are not many stens laying around–BUT there are a lot of M-1 carbines and C-11s and it is fairly simple to make those fully auto.

Banning “assault weapons” is a joke. In the recent Florida shooting…what was he shooting people from 10 feet away inside a building? From that range a mildly competent shooter could get just as many kills with a pistol.

Hell ridiculous as it sounds I’m pretty sure some nut job with a sword could run up a double digit kill count in a soft target like a school if they really wanted to…or just get creative and drive a heavy vehicle at a high rate of speed into a crowded area. The two most devastating terrorist attacks in America I can think of off the top of my head are 9/11 and the Oklahoma City bombing(Timothy McVeigh). Neither one of them used guns.
