Angelina Jolie could direct ‘Captain Marvel’ the first female-fronted Marvel movie.

    Really?!

    The first female fronted?!

You mean like how women have always graciously taken the the back seat?!

    Aww, how sweet 😀

I’ve noticed what they are doing with the new Ghostbusters film and we all know it will be a pile of s~~~. Women AREN’T funny as they can’t laugh at themselves which is the secret of comedy so will be a complete crapfest that the mangina and white knight reviewers will say is the best film ever made regardless of its quality

I’ve also noticed there’s a new Avengers line-up in the comics that will be “all female” instead of, say, a mix of both.  People are white knighting these characters and the women standing up for it, saying “well, comics have been so male-dominated, it’s about time we have women represented!”  …As if we didn’t already?  Who was [obnoxiously] the main focus of X-Men: Days of Future Past?  Even Wolverine took somewhat of a backseat to Mystique!  But, you know, woman power and all.

Marvel and DC are just going after their new market demographic.

They realized that girls are buying comics in a rate similar to boys – so they need to cater to the new cash cow. It’s either doing that or losing those readers to Japanese manga – which girls in middle and high schools buy by the dozens.

    Girls BUYING comics? lmao

Ok they do but everybody knows that all females do is FOLLOW trends they dont make or create s~~~ up completely on their own.

People forget that THEY were the ones that ridiculed, teased, and even shamed MEN for being into these things in the first place.

Im a Star wars fan. I think that will be a Female lead in their next movie.

They wonder why movie ticket sales and TV viewership is in a steady decline. Then they try to solve it by sending us … all female casts. As usual, I’ll vote with my feet.

    Female Ghostbusters. LMAO!

With Melissa McCarthy? What the? Sorry, but she’s very f~~~ing overweight.

She won’t be climbing 30 flights of stairs carrying a proton pack that’s for f~~~ing sure.

She will have to get a Chinook to the roof of Spook Central.

    Another post I just saw:

“Girls push for a black man to play the third incarnation of Peter Parker for the new Spider-Man movies, namely Donald Glover”

    >”Girls push for…”

I think that guy would be fine in a Netflix series of Miles Morales if they must do that story, but leave my Parker Spider-Man alone!  I suppose what most annoyed me is the “Girls push for” part of it.  Like, why?…

There is some confusion here, but have no fear the bard is here lol

The original Captain Marvel was a Kree man named Mar-Vell who held the title until his death in 1982. Since his death there had been multiple people to take up the mantle, but never really lasted. In 1968 an airforce member by the name of Carol Danvers appeared in Marvel Superheroes-13 and later as Ms.Marvel in Ms. Marvel #1 in 1977. In 2012 Marvel finally made her into Captain Marvel as Captain America told her she was Ms. Marvel for far too long and Mar-Vell would have wanted her to take up the mantle. So Marvel isn’t turning Captain Marvel into a woman they are just using the Carol Danver version of the character for the movie. Although Mar-Vell could still appear to some extent. Some people think he is Star Lords father in the MCU.

A Force, the all female avengers book, is not replacing Avengers, but it is just an all female led Avengers book. Marvel did the same thing in 2013 with “X-men” by making the whole cast women. It wasn’t bad, but I quit reading it after a few issues because I was cutting by comic budget at the time and it wasn’t as good as Uncanny or All New X-Men.

As for the black Spider-Man ther is one in the Ultimate Universe who is half black and half mexican, although his mexican side is rarely ever mentioned anymore, named Miles Morales. He took over as Spider-Man after Peter died and it wasn’t liked this was a quick thing. Ultimate Peter died 11 years after the start of ultimate Spider-Man. Miles is cool, but having him be Spider-Man would be weird without ever seeing Peter. Maybe if we got 3-4 Spider-man movies and 3 Avengers movies with Peter then he could be killed off for Miles to show up.

Females do read comics, but really aren’t into Superhero comics. White Knights will say it is because of the way they are drawn or the writing is good enough for females, but studies have shown women prefer stuff from image over Marvel and DC. Comixology said more women than men read Saga which is pretty much Star Wars meets Game of Thrones, but at its core what it is about? An inter racial couple with a baby on the run because both factions want to kill all 3 of them. Also the guy who owns the comic shop I go to said he notices women are also really more into horror comics like the walking dead. I think superheroes are just something that majority of women aren’t into. The female Captain Marvel book when launched in 2012 was written by a woman and it only made it to 14 issues before having to be relaunched again with a new number 1 by the same female writer.

Women want equal representation in the entertainment industry yet they don’t want to create anything themselves. As is typical they take something created by a man and pervert it.

The Children of Doom... Doom's Children. They told my lord the way to the Mountain of Power. They told him to throw down his sword and return to the Earth... Ha! Time enough for the Earth in the grave.
