Congratulations! I’ll bet those idiots at your last company are trying to figure out how they’re going to do what you used to do without you. It’s a great feeling, isn’t it?

I got that fantastic feeling, that weight lifted off my shoulders, when I left my first job, after wasting 9 good years and not being valued properly, then I landed on a really good company, that actually valued its staff, that actually gave them a Christmas Bonus (which is un-heard of in the UK) and the proper tools to be able to do their job (which is getting virtually un-heard of in normal companies nowadays). As my Dad says, the company culture, which comes from the top and filters all the way down, determines how good a place of work somewhere is.

dont engage with the hive if at all possible. if called upon to discuss personal matters, be polite, but vague. If asked about relationship status, the standard “single, but looking for the right one spiel” tends to work decently well. If they try to hook you up with a landwhale, either evade until they get the hint or make up something about being hurt previously and trying to “find yourself” or some other garbage.

Yes. There is no better feeling than this. As the poem says GO ALL THE WAY. I did. It cost me a job, caused rejection, isolation, and division. However, I prevailed and everything else was a test of my endurance.

    I went my own way.
