I see a good number of people posting up stuff on the tour. Wish I had the time to catch it before it is all over. All the bands I grew up on calling it a day. First Rush now Slayer.

I grew up in Los Angeles, and it gives me a sense of pride when rock band is formed in Southern California and gets worldwide recognition. Slayer was formed in Huntington Park, California (I used to go to this area to shop for cheap clothes years ago), and Metallica used to rehearse a few miles away in the city of Norwalk (around the same time in the early 80s).

I bought Slayer’s South of Heaven on cassette tape in 1988. What a dark album that was. It was gloomy. My dad listened to the intro to South of Heaven and he though it was interesting. I was surprised. He usually hates my music. I love the guitar distortion and fast-paced drumming of Slayer songs, I just wish they had more melodic guitar solos.

"I saw that there comes a point, in the defeat of any man of virtue, when his own consent is needed for evil to win-and that no manner of injury done to him by others can succeed if he chooses to withhold his consent. I saw that I could put an end to your outrages by pronouncing a single word in my mind. I pronounced it. The word was ‘No.’" (Atlas Shrugged)
