When I was returning home from a job on Monday, Animal Control was parked in front of this woman’s house. I think someone else beat me to the punch or maybe validated my report as I gave them her street and approximate location.

Anyway, I have not seen any feral cats the past two days, and the curbside feral cat feeding station is no more.

It really has been fun following the action. .
I’m allergic to cats so I’m not very sympathetic to some crazy cat lady. ..

I’m a cat guy. A stray cat saved my live. But I understand that a colony of feral cats is not good. I am glad you got resolution.

Jan, I love cats too though I will make cruel jokes about them just for comedic purposes. They are so very intelligent. I have a Parrot, a Calico cat, and a new Beagle puppy.

In the feral case, dead truly is better. I’m going to begin extra song bird feeding to help them through the Winter. The feral cats killed so many of them.

Should have called your local Chinese Restaurant. Not only would the cat problem been resolved, but some tasty stir fry could have been created.

Just so you know, cat does taste good.

Glad it was resolved. Kudos for your efforts Cpig.

I thought what I'd do was I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes...or should I?

I’m thinking her neighbor who told me about her possibly ratted her out as he was not happy either. It was two 60ish women living together, and now one vehicle is gone after the AC visit along with the cat infestation. Cat hoarding has to be some OCD type mental illness.

The only cat I see is my neighbor’s pet cat. He can come out and play safely.

I have a cat that was left by well meaning, but misguided, folks out by my house. I live out of town and many people have left cats and small dogs thinking they can take care of themselves out “in the country.’ What really happens is these animals slowly starve to death. The small dogs starve mush faster than cats. Also, many times coyotes find these poor creatures and feed on them. The cat I have now could have been one of the unfortunate ones. I took it in because I may be a man but I am soft-hearted.(In fact she is sitting behind my chair right now with a mouse she caught outside.) I couldn’t bear to see an animal starve. So I started giving her food and soon she was part of the household. I do not regret it for one second as she has not only proven a loving companion she has caught dozens of moles, gophers, rats, mice and lizards. (saves me money on cat food. lol) She is happiest sitting on my lap and getting all the attention I will give her. typical female, just loves attention.

C- pig, I hope you find peace at last when it comes to those feral cats.

My grandparents had an adopted cat like that which they found on their property – it more than repaid their kindness by alerting my short-sighted grandmother when there were snakes around.

To quote an Asian colleague, “you want duck quack-quack or duck miaow-miaow?”

This colleague also claimed (after a trip ‘home’ to China) that outside the big cities you could get a hotpot with pretty much any local animal you could think of. Just sayin’.
