A hardly noticable albeit possibly significant trend change seems to have set in according to this article in which it is stated that apparently millennial men tend towards rating women’s wealth first and looks only second. Although they’d still be ready to pay the dinner bill on the first date (in this case possibly shifting it rather towards some type of “investment”…) it might just look overall, that some men are giving women just what they asked for in the first place: (quite) true equality plus (quite) true independence, hence moving at least slightly and gradually into the right direction.

Now the reason I announce this in quite a careful way is that I am always a bit careful when it comes to anything (articles or what not) being published in terms of immediately buying it.

Whether or not women will like that trend shift (like in the old Chinese saying: “Be careful what you wish for, you might just get it…”), which is hardly likely, no doubt remains to be seen, but hey: you laydees once again have made your bed, now make yourself as comfy as you can lying in it.

So I reckon, it will be all the more important for us to welcome the younger men who in the end decide to be mgtows, just like Tim Patten wants to focus mostly to address younger men with his new book as he recently told me in person when we talked over the phone.

See how it is. They claim men are engaged in hypergamy and that’s bad, yet when females do it it’s ok.

Also, this is what females want, to be respected and wanted for their degrees and success.

The double bad is that if men shift to hypergamy all the females will have to start producing and their looks won’t count as much.

However as the OP said , men generally don’t care about a females money.

As a millennial male, my take on it is rather simple. If I was marrying when I was in my early 20s I wouldn’t care much about her finances as long as she had enough common sense to live within her means and was at least somewhat interested in saving consistently so we could retire some day. Women don’t want to get married in their early 20s anymore…so fast forward 10 years, I’m in my early 30s, I have 10 more years of working on my career and my finances to worry about…and this is where the problem lies.

If I marry a woman who is a financial train wreck with a crappy job the burden of her poor choices and lifestyle will fall upon me. I’d end up either paying off her debts, paying all the other bills so she can pay her debts(pretty much the same as the previous option), or worst case(and probably most likely) after the wedding she simply continues to dig even deeper into debt. Its a no win situation for me, and what makes it even worse is as we all know how devastating a divorce is when you are the one bringing all the assets and the bulk of the income into the marriage…it would be a financial buttrape for me and a huge pay day for her.

Pretty much sums it up nicely…financially women look at men as what men can give them, where as men just want to not get f~~~ed like we’ve seen happen to so many other guys. Haha…people think I’m nuts when I say I want to be retired by 40, then move to South America or Asia where I can get a maid and a never ending supply of hot young prostitutes. Having a woman cook and clean for me, plus all the sex I want would probably cost me what about 1-2 typical date nights here in the states would lol. Between the two of them they make the perfect wife and the second they make any drama they get replaced.

I just don’t see how that is a bad plan when the alternative is to marry a divorce hungry Ameriskank…we all know how that turns out…

So I was that simp who married a financial train wreck. I helped her pay off her s~~~ty car (because her credit was so f~~~ed up), fixed her credit score (we contested a lot of her dues because they were too lazy to get back in touch, and I we paid off her student loan). Fast forward, we get divorced, I barely have any money to my name, the market is in ruins, I was upside down on the house I owned because the housing market crashed and it is looking worse.

Here’s how I fixed it:
I downgraded everything. I did my own yard work, bought groceries cheap (you’d be surprised how far a family pack of romon noodles can go), and got roommates to help with the mortgage. She didnt want to have anything with the house due to the s~~~ty market and saw it and me as the owner as a liability. Fortunately for me she let me have the house and signed over all rights to it. Last time I spoke to her she was 13,000 dollars in credit card debt. This was two years ago. How’d I find out? She had the nerve to ask to borrow money from me. It didn’t work, theyre like drug addicts, the only see what you can provide.

If it costs you your peace of mind, then it is too expensive.

I’d just rather apply the “fixed it” mentality before I ever break it by getting married. All good points gentlemen.

The point that I tried to get across in this very thread was that if there is indeed such a gradual shift of behavior towards hypergamy within men taking place, though right now as it seems only at a very low initial level, then I think it is worth supporting it within our philosophy stance.

Ie. any other man who joins in here and in his introduction states that he tried that behavior on an ex girlfriend of his and (most probably) failed at it and then asks himself whether or not he might have done something wrong or has any doubt about himself not being somewhat crazy, then it’ll be up to us and tell him: “No, you didn’t do anything wrong there, in fact it was good of you to at least try…” and figuratively pad him on his shoulder for just that.
