Anonymous14Now forgive me for being extremely sexist here by voicing my opinion against the nomination of a woman in an award, especially when she is pitted against a couple of men but since this award is for the most “beautiful” goal scored I think only women should be nominated.
I mean just check out the goals in the link and lets just forget the fact that the goals scored by the two men James Rodriguez of Colombia and Robin Van Persie of Netherlands were in the FIFA World Cup 2014, a tournament where the best players of the sport are selected to represent their respective nations and they give their absolute best not just in terms of scoring goals but also defending them. So when its compared to a goal scored in some local league derby in Ireland, it outright p~~~es me off.
I mean, don’t get me wrong, the goal by Stephanie Roche is nothing less than an absolute magnifico but just go and watch a women’s football match if you haven’t, with an intensity rating less than a stage of Tour de France because its being played by being with boobs, stunts like these are really not that hard to produce that..well..you get my point. Its not much of a surprise when this whole sham of an award was started on the behest of that queer pedophile shmuck Sepp Bladder, a businessman who doesn’t knows jack about football and is only being elected president of that bloated corpse called FIFA year after year for financial reasons. Did you know Bladder’s favourite pastimes include private liaisons with Leo Messi? (Yeah I’m a Real Madrid supporter so what?)
And since its open to public voting from a worldwide audience, take a wild guess who the winner is going to be 🙂
Saddest part of this whole affair is the inclusion of the name of the legend Ferenc Puskás in this 🙁
First just let me:
BAAAAAYERN MÜNCHEN!
The goal from Roche is not bad by any means, it’s quite the volley. But as you said, it simply cannot compare to the others, just going by prestige. I mean compare the emotions and reactions that burst when Roche scored the goal and when van Persie executes that superb header. Even the intensity is absolutely different and the execution as well. I mean those female players just seem to be standing in place while she scores that goal. Not one of the female defenders even makes an attempt to throw herself into the shot.
I tried to watch a female football match once and…i fell asleep. In tennis or volleyball you can at least indulge yourself in their looks but the same cannot be said about female football.
The right man at the wrong place can make all the difference in the world.
LMAO @ “BAAAAAYERN MÜNCHEN!”
+10!!!
If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.
Anonymous14Let me then:
HALA MADRIDDDD!
then BAAAAAYERN MÜNCHEN!
Bayern has always been my second most favourite club but I stopped watching their matches ever since that Farca pup Guardiola took over. I’ll start supporting again as soon as he gets fired(hope he does 😛 )
Man Heynckes was such an awesome manager, I’d have loved it if he came to Madrid even. Too bad the Bayern management had to have him retired. In World Cup though I am since 1990 and forever a Mannschaft supporter. 1990 because that was the first World Cup I understood(was 6 back then) with occasional help from my father who was an avid football lover. Now that he is gone I really miss him when watching any football match 🙁
Just like 2014, 1990 was a perfect year to be a German supporter. Feel really lucky to have witnessed legends like Lothar Matthäus, Andreas Brehme, Jürgen Klinsmann in action. Matthäus is still one my favourite footballers. Miss those golden days when football wasn’t so commercialized. This year was the perfect football year for me with Germany the World Champions and Real Madrid the European League Champions. 😀
Great to find some football lovers among you gentlemen.I fell in love with German football early on as a little guy.
I was an aspiring football player, was even in training for Slovan Bratislava (maybe you have heard of them, they have been in the news lately because of some stadium scandal) before my path in life rather changed. But even back then, what i wanted was to live in Germany and play in the Bundesliga, preferably for Bayern. Sometimes i still think back as to if i would have achieved that if i stuck with it.
I don’t follow it too often these days. I still watch a match or two and watch the World Cup and other prestigious events however.
DAS MANNSCHAFT!
7-1 never forget. The look on my face during that match…it was smug to say the least.
The right man at the wrong place can make all the difference in the world.
