But they’re still at advantaged:

68 percent of those female graduates are leaving school with some amount of student loan debt, compared to 63 percent of men.

The difference is just only 5 points, but women are earning 60% degrees agaisnt 40% earned by men, 20 points more.

Women also are 94% in teaching degrees and 84% in psychology degrees. This likely to have a very bad impact on future generations of boys: women will teach, teachers will complain about boys’ behavior, female psychologists will prescribe psycho-drugs in order to keep boys silent and quiet like girls.
The overwhelmingly majority of women in schools, coupled with an anti-male trend in our society, is the main cause of the educational gender gap.

What p~~~es me off is the article blames the mythical wage gap for the inability of women to pay off their student debt They are saying that male graduates earn more and therefore can start building a 401K and a future a lot sooner.

I am also p~~~ed off that they say more women entering university are coming from economically disadvantaged families. You can’t have it both ways sweetheart. You want more women in university then they will obviously becoming from poorer families. And women get way more grants, bursaries, and scholarships than men, because they are used to attract women to higher education.

Yeah, The saturation of women in the teaching, medical, and psychology fields means they are actually going to be competing against themselves for jobs and not men.

I have two children who became stupid university graduates. Talk about useless degrees.

Number one studied and graduated in linguistics. I told her there were no jobs, when everyone in Vancouver speaks at least two languages, and now computers can translate way faster. Oh well, never got a job in her field after graduation and been out of work for four years.

Number two studied archaeology. I told her as well that almost all the archaeology work in British Columbia was being given to First Nations people. Don’t listen to dad. The only place she has worked is at a fast food joint. But did do some free work in middle east and South Africa.

I’m not a fan of the education system in general, nor am i promoting any body to taking on lots of debt.

But, student loans have relatively LOW INTEREST and in the case of government student loans, you have 0% interest, that means that YOU ARE BEING PAID to take on a student loan, as the inflation rate is much higher than 0%.

Regardless, student debt on average around $28k per person. Even with a higher interest rate of 4%, that is still ONLY $1.2K per year of interest.

If these people are crying over making a $100-200/month payment… how the f~~~ are they going to survive the REAL WORLD? Where a half decent internet connection in canada, costs $110/month! What about car insurance for guys?
When i was 19, buying my first car, full coverage for a $10,000 car, was $12,000 per year. and even then i ended up being forced to pay $3k/yr on ONLY 3rd party coverage.

It always amazes me how people with student debt blow it way out of proportion.
