There has probably already been a forum page about this, but I am too lazy to search and see.

I’ve seen the new trailers for “Mirror’s Edge, Catalyst,” and the graphics and story seem pretty good for a remake. I really enjoyed the first/original Mirror’s Edge, mainly for the Libertarian vibe. Being that this was made before “main stream” feminism, it did not have any “winins in video games are so oppressed” s~~~ in it, but I fear that this game might turn out to be a political hack, especially after the rumor that Anita C~~~kseeian was on the development team.

Personally, I don’t mind female protagonists in games as long as they are regular, “human” and not over represented. When the fact that the main player is female becomes a substantial pert of the game, I tend to have a problem.

What is your opinion, cause I’m just dead curious at this point.

Meh. Mirror’s Edge was light on substance. It was a decent prototype/tech demo, but the game as a whole was severely lacking. Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is slated to be an open world game. I’m guessing it’s going to be similar to the inFAMOUS/Prototype/GTA-style with tons of side missions and a sprawling city.

EA DICE is the developer. They are absolutely HUGE as far as game companies go and have a board of directors and investors to satisfy. This likely means they won’t be making any major overtures to alienate their core demographic (game players like you and me). They’ll be looking for mass appeal, not a “strong womynz” angle. But who knows? I’ll probably be wrong and another little part of me will die.

By sticking with female lead characters, EA gets the halo effect from the leftovers of the feminazi games media. However, because SJWs and feminists can never be happy or satisfied, there will always be dissent about their choices. If EA and the games industry has not learned to ignore these people by now, they may push for more pandering.

I’ll def wait until MEC has been out for a while before picking it up. The first one was not worth the day-one sticker price…

This will sound weird. I f~~~ing loved Mirror’s Edge. But that game is really bad. Jesus Christ, I never enjoyed so much to play a game so badly designed. The whole game is just trial and error. It seems that tries to be modern Prince Of Persia with improvements, but it didn’t work well. I think I only enjoyed to play it because I like parkour.

I’m not involved with any possible SJWing around games, gamergate, and the sorts. The few I saw about Anita was enough to see that she just need a lab accident to become a insane super villain looking for world domination through questionable methods.

However it is, I’m not paying attention to “genders issues” in games. I just don’t care.

I agree with all of your post and the first games is one of my favourite games of last gen. Love the setting and atmosphere plus like you say Faith is just normal and she isn’t about pushing a feminist agenda

I am going to wait and see the reviews for ME 2. I know one website that always praises or marks down games to do with it’s feminist content so if they start going on about how progressive it is then I will avoid the game
