Female Family Members=VENT POST

I have a cousin who is 11 years younger. She has been through a ton of s~~~, no thanks to my overly religious family.
Anyway, I thought I would be nice to her because she seemed cool when we grew up. However the more I get to know her, the more I see her attitude just isn’t worth investing my time in.
She’s very overweight & doesn’t exercise. I have nothing against those who aren’t physically fit but it’s the fact that she has a ton of health problems because of it and she refuses to make any effort to improve. If she at least put forth an effort, I would not have an issue with it.
She always tells me what I want to hear, which raises a red flag.
She’s bailed on her friends to hang out with me when I come into town to visit. That right there was the red flag. She can’t hold a promise to her friends, which says she isn’t loyal.
She mentioned she took an interpersonal communications course, in order of hopes of persuading people, which is a red flag for saying “I want to manipulate people.”
She knows I am wealthy but I never have once mentioned my finacial status and she never will learn of it.
She was supposed to finish her higher education degree but she f’d it up because she didn’t have her priorities straight.
I was going to go visit for turkey day but I’ll be spending it in Vegas instead. I’m not a gambler but I love staying at the nice resorts, eating at fine dining restaurants and watching the nice eye candy. Plus it gives me an excuse to dress up & feel like a million bucks.
While I haven’t cut her out of my life, I see that it is best to keep a far,far distance. She’s in Illinois & I’m in Colorado.
I really don’t see how she adds any real value to my life. It feels as if it’s more of a aquaintance relationship. I don’t consider the time & energy spent on her a waste, as it is the only way to gain a true understanding on one’s personality.
I can’t help but wonder if she hopes I would take care of her & her family if they got sick. In other words, I am worried that she is using me. I’m a paramedic & I’m studying to be a trauma room RN. That’s the problem with having a career in the medical field, family & friends expect you to drop everything & take care of them. To be frank, on my off days, I take care of me & my dog. Nobody else.

All you are asking for is her to put some effort into her self. If she can’t be bothered, you shouldn’t be bothered either.

Harsh reality but she makes her choices like everyone else.

Nice ending! Drive, ambition, sacrifice, you did it, I did it, many have done “it”.

Average women are shallow, short sighted, subjective thinkers. That’s why they fail all the time in life’s critical areas.

It helps me to realize inside. Women today are incapable mentally and emotionally. To deal with RP, adapt, and move forward. It’ll take a unicorn just to understand the basics.

Understandable. Taking care of others is “what you DO” (professionally) . . . not “who you are”.

I once dated a law student / budding lawyer. She argued for a living, but in her personal life, she hated any kind of debate or decision-making. In her otherwise overly-articulated professional life, during her off time, she actually preferred to SHUT THE F~~~ UP.

It didn’t last long because she was a criminal defense field, and had MAJOR struggles & issues with her conscience.
