Fears of that thing called .. Democratic Socialism

The trendy and casual use of a term by some contemporary politicians .. it is one of the most dangerous things I’ve witnessed in my lifetime ..

There is a short title I see quite often, these days, when reading about politics or news stories in general. It is called Democratic Socialism. It scares me to no end.

I don’t care if the politicians are focusing on things they feel the government should provide to all citizens .. such as a range of basic services to the public, things such as health care and higher education .. for free .. there is always a cost .. a big cost, a debilitating cost.

There are other ways to solve the health care situation, continuing education and prescription drug issues in our country without any need for treading anywhere close to the dangers of Socialism. Socialism is the necessary first step to another “ism” .. we all know what it is. Even a slight move in that direction will begin the process of paralysis .. of a nation.

Whether it’s fledgling Millennial politicians .. or .. older leftist Democrats who have slid down that Socialist slide …

the term Socialist and Democratic Socialism sends sharp shivers down my spine .. and placing that term Democratic in front of the word doesn’t lessen my worries .. only makes it worse.

Have these politicians, especially the younger ones .. have they really studied their history? .. the horrific stained history of Socialism .. those who have lived under it .. and eventually escaped from bondage. Democratic Socialism is .. Socialism.

Young people don’t listen to their elders who know and have been there. They think they can do it better. Last night I spoke with a man who was recently in Venezuela. He said it’s like end of the world there. Unless something changes millions will starve to death.

The more decisions made from above, the less freedom we have as people. There is always the option to withdraw the consent to be governed if the socialist types get out of hand…

There is nothing inherently wrong with democracy and socialism. But there is another ingredient that makes it tyrannical..

Socialism doesn’t really scare me as much as democratic does. No one ever is concerned about the country becoming too democratic, but that’s actually the mindset that’s going to lead to our destruction.

The US is not a democracy. It never has been. We live in a republic. Democracy is where everyone has an equal vote, and therefore, the majority opinion wins. The minority IS SOL. Rural areas are less worthy than urban because they have smaller populations. Smaller states have less say than the bigger states.

It’s exactly why the liberals are wanting to do away with the electoral college. They want mob rule because they believe they can control the mob. They believe they are easy to win over with free stuff. The left is always claiming we have a democracy, because that’s what they wish we had.

Socialism is an evil, no doubt, but I have less issue with it within the framework of a republic. It’s when it’s within a democracy or dictatorship that it’s really an issue. And even if socialistic ideas die in the US, we still will have a problem with democracy and the attempts to run American by mob rule.

Basically, this is what the democrats are trying to do by pushing for all illegal invaders to have the ability to vote in elections.

I also find it ironic that democrats define themselves as the party of diversity, yet they push for legislation that prevents any one from choosing to divert from the norm. The refuse to believe that anyone who could or should be allowed to live in something other than the urban culture they live in.

And it’s there reason why the President was never meant to be elected by popular vote. The southern less populated states would never have signed on if they were going to be controlled by the heavily populated North.

The young in America today have no grasp of history. I grew up in the 1960’s and it was a time of change. The young then DID understand what WW2 was all about,but they were also tired of fighting wars. Korea and Vietnam were spurred by CHINA. Times in the US were about as good as it ever was. I could see the paradigm of war and prosperity, yet one’s DUTY was to do what needed to be done, not what we wanted to do. The young today are all about “self”, not what is good for all.

ANY kind of SOCIALISM is not good !! Call it anything you want,but you will lose your freedom first, then your wealth. Ask the FRENCH. They voted in a socialist gov’t almost a decade ago, and now they demonstrate against the gov’t over high prices.

I don’t blame just the young; their parents practically raised them to be like that. The uber rich only invrsted in interests of their own. Politicians stopped representing THE PEOPLE, and cared only of self interest.
LET IT BURN,….. time comes i’ll be either dead or locked & loaded.

Of course that is why European Countries, Australia and even Canada are doing better then the United States despite Feminism and Immigration being negatives (Immigration being more of a negative on the European part) even with those evil Socialist programs (which are paid for via Taxes). I am more afraid of an increased Deficit caused by Tax cuts while Daddy Trump increases Military spending while cutting the spending which benefits the Public more) which occurs mostly under Republican Presidents (each one since Reagan).

Too much power concentrated in the hands of a few is a problem, whether it is the government, business, or religion.

Yes, ultimately, force is the only reason governments, leaders hold power. In started when a man ruled over other men when he had the ability to murder any man who refused. The only thing that’s really changed is his ability to gain allies to support his leadership and fight on his behalf.

The reality is the only thing that keeps US leaders from doing whatever they want is the ability to get enough popular support to do so. Trump, or any President, could remain in power for life, if he had the support of the military and population to do so. The reason that doesn’t happen is that we have a constitution to remind us what a crappy idea that is. We tell ourselves that we are a nation of laws, yet laws are broken without recourse all the time…because no one is their to punish whoever broke the law. Either becomes no body cares, or in the case of a politician, because they have enough people who support them who willing to overlook the law and not enough who are will to start a fight and push for it.

Looking another way, if there were 2 versions of Clinton running in the last election, one who held classified docs illegally and one who did not, is there any doubt that the one who did, would be put in jail? The government and people were willing to overlook it because they felt their was no other option. It’s the reason why someone like Franken can lose his career over touching a woman’s boobs, yet a Clinton can get away with murder.
