One thing about this scene that always annoys me is how we’re still supposed to “feel sorry” for the woman at the end of it when she starts crying after all of her arguments have been nullified by his logic. This was by design courtesy of the writers who want men to feel shameful for making the right choice, sensibility be damned.

I was just home on leave for an extended period of time and had almost this EXACT conversation verbatim with my best friend’s wife. She didn’t start crying but she seemed upset that I was standing my ground. She then started telling me all about her single best friend whom I’ll never date. LOL.

A Western marriage that survives in the current year is an act of mercy and compassion by the woman.

    Agent Smith:
Have you ever stood and stared at it? Marveled at its beauty, its genius? Billions of people just living out their lives, oblivious. Did you know that the first Matrix was designed to be a perfect human world, where none suffered? Where everyone would be happy? It was a disaster. No one would accept the program. Entire crops were lost. Some believed we lacked the programming language to describe your perfect world. But I believe that, as a species, human beings define their reality through misery and suffering.

What i like a lot are movies with a strong aaahhhh shhhiiiiit moment. Deer Hunter for example, opening with extremely red pill 30 minutes wedding and then goes in a heartbeat from celebration to the warzone … Or, Dark City, directors cut, when the moment comes well into 1 hour that explaines to viewer what is going on, dont want post spoilers here.

As for red pill scenes, well Nicole Kidman had many. Funny how in popular culture femele fatales are always red pill.

Steve Buscemi also gives some food for thought.
