Father turns in daughter after finding journal with plans of mass shooting at Md. school

FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. (WJLA) – The father of the teen student who authorities say was plotting a mass shooting at Catoctin High School in Frederick County reportedly turned his daughter in after finding a detailed journal at home full of attack plans.

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office said the father of Nichole Cevario, 18, told officials Thursday about a “potential threat of violence” against the school.

In the journal the father found talk of a shotgun with ammo, bomb material and the school’s emergency plan. Also scribbled inside the journal was a date for the potential attack: April 5.

When police searched Cevario’s home, they say they found the journal, a shotgun, ammunition, pipes and caps, shrapnel, fireworks, magnesium tape and fuse material.

Police say they believe Cevario had been planning the attack for a while and had planned to die if her attack was executed the way it was drawn up.

Authorities are confident she worked alone, plotting out step by step the way she envisioned the attack playing out. Sheriff Chuck Jenkins says there is no doubt in his mind that a major disaster was averted.

Cevario is currently at Frederick Memorial Hospital undergoing a mental evaluation. Once she is released, she will be formally charged with possession of explosive and incendiary materials with intent to create a bomb.

Get your popcorn ready. This is gonna be a thing now. Good on the father for not only finding the stuff, but reporting his daughter to the authorities. Most people would not do that.

A year old yet I never heard about this. Good job hiding this and spewing out the same toxic masculinity garbage. What was her problem? Too many male hormones? BAH! Only other female school shooter (who actually did kill students) that I know of is that “I don’t like mondays” girl. There aren’t as many female shooters because they’re too self absorbed to give a f~~~. Every girl I remember of was either the hot attention whore, nerd or emo/goth outcast, but even the female outcasts were different than the guys because they didn’t have a nothing matters I wanna watch the world burn attitude because even those girls weren’t treated as poorly as male outcasts.

Good job by the father. Some girls might fantasize about it, but i don’t think many will actually do it, girls aren’t treated nearly as bad as boys are, and they know there’s a safety net for women if they start to slip through the cracks.

Boys and young men who’re disassociated from society and have mental health problems, know they face a life of possible homelessness, discrimination, and often bullying. These types of guys who fall through the cracks, know they have no future, and they also know there is no safety net for men.
