“The clothing industry is the second largest polluter in the world … second only to oil,” the recipient of an environmental award told a stunned Manhattan audience earlier this year. “It’s a really nasty business … it’s a mess.”
On a warm spring night at a Chelsea Piers ballroom on the Hudson River, Fisher was honored by Riverkeeper for her commitment to environmental causes. She was self-deprecating and even apologetic when speaking about the ecological impact of clothing, including garments tagged with her own name!

Feminism is quick to blame ALL Men for wrecking the planet… While cheering the decimation of whales for their oil for makeup. Now, it’s gotten much worse. Who’s polluting out world? Maybe they should look in their OWN closets!

And the way they treat their employees is beneath despicable.

Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?

Don’t get me going on that.
I worked security in my early 20’s and I was assigned a post at some couture factory in Southern Ca.
Most of the people making the clothes were Mexicans. They weren’t making more than 6 bucks an hour but the clothes they were making?
250 bucks for a buttoned up shirt.
And that’s just one little example.

    Hey Untamed,

Just curious – were they doing all the sewing by hand with needle and thread or were they using sewing machines? I’m just curious because in France, there are really stringent requirements for something to be called “couture” and I’m curious if the place you saw in SoCal adhered to similar standards.

(Thinking about GMOW and starting a clothing business – a humane one)

They had machines, but they also had orders to do by hand. My point is not wether they worked hard, it’s about what they were being compensated next to the net profit. There are way harder jobs out there, and more dangerous.

Sorry that was a bit off topic – I know they treat those people horribly and turn around and make outrageous profit margins. I was just wondering if what they’re calling couture is the same thing it means in other places where it’s enforced by law.

It’s all semantics from one country to another. France just has better social system is all. But they invent new loopholes and study cases every week so if they can away with it, they will.

In order to help stop this atrocity to the environment, I vote we should just all go naked.
