    I found this list interesting:

    http://www.futurescopes.com/getting-married/9710/10-famous-men-history-who-never-married

(Technically, it’s 11 men that didn’t get married.)

Can you think of any other names that should be added to this list?

"I saw that there comes a point, in the defeat of any man of virtue, when his own consent is needed for evil to win-and that no manner of injury done to him by others can succeed if he chooses to withhold his consent. I saw that I could put an end to your outrages by pronouncing a single word in my mind. I pronounced it. The word was ‘No.’" (Atlas Shrugged)

Excellent post but why does the article say: “it is not enough to meet all the emotional, sexual and spiritual needs of an infidel.”

    Infidel? WTF

Gilgamesh-(2100 BC) He and Enkidu killed the Bull of Heaven, which the goddess Ishtar sent to punish Gilgamesh for spurning her advances.

    NOW THAT IS A MGHOW!

Yes Gilgamesh had a son Ur-Nungal, but no mention is ever made of a wife/mother/or Queen of Uruk

So, I am looking around and I find stuff here and there, Quora has 17 replies as to why a good looking man over 40 would have never married, none state this: BECAUSE BEING IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH A WOMAN IS USUALLY A NIGHTMARE! And if it isn’t, just give it time, because odds are it will be.

Plato, Aristotle, St. Augustine (had a child with a prostitute before he became a Christian), St. Thomas Aquinas. Well, what do you know, the great thinkers of western civilization…

Holy crap! Imagine the loss to civilization if any one of those great men got married! It’s virtual gaurantee their wives would have badgered the s~~~ out of them. Imagine Bethoven’s wife, “you never spend time with me, you’re always playing your stupid instruments”.

"Women are directly adapted to act as the nurses and educators of our early childhood, for the simple reason that they themselves are childish, foolish, and short-sighted—in a word, are big children all their lives, something intermediate between the child and the man, who is a man in the strict sense of the word. Consider how a young girl will toy day after day with a child, dance with it and sing to it; and then consider what a man, with the very best intentions in the world, could do in her place.” Quote from Arthur Shopenhauer, 17th century philosopher

Yes but Beethoven became deaf—lucky devil!
