One thing we could use is a public champion coming to our defense.

Well it looks like we’ve gained a heavy hitter.

Professor Alan Dershowitz says: Now I feel the need to redouble my efforts on behalf of the falsely accused, as I have been one of them.”

Professor Alan Dershowitz was accused of rape in court papers filed in a case brought against someone other than Dershowitz. That allegation has been stricken from the record of the case–but Dershowitz is not happy that news of the court’s action striking the accusation is not nearly so well known as news of the initial rape accusation. “I understand—really understand—why it is so important to protect the innocent as well as to punish the guilty. Now I feel the need to redouble my efforts on behalf of the falsely accused, as I have been one of them.”

As males, we MUST stand up for other males.   One of the biggest gender imbalances in western society is the fact that females can be victims, but males can only be failures.

The truth is, males who are subject to false accusations would rather have someone beat them up.  Hell, maybe even rape them. At least then it’s over with, and you can move on.  A false allegation is forever with you, in the background as a “well maybe it was true” sort of thing.  People always look at you differently.

And men, although terribly hurt by this, get no help.  Only women get help, when they are hurt by others.  That has to change.  Men need help, support, and to be treated, to some degree as the victims they really are.
