One of my favourite RPG’s, fallout 3, hasbeen hyped about for a next installement for years now. It has been the subject of hoax announcements and all other kinds of wierdness. Finally though, it looks like Fallout fans will be rewarded. The Bethsoft page has a countdown clock active that is set to expire quite soon, in roughly an hour in fact.

Hopefully this is the announcement all fallout fans have been after.

Excellent. Fallout 4 is announced! Now we just have to wait for Anita Sarkeesian to release a 2 min video costing over $140,000 which she got of her “army” to tells us what sexist pigs Bethsoft are for making this game

I liked F3 and loved F:NV. I just hope Bethesda will not butcher Fallout logic and universe, and F4 will have all the RPG elements FNV had by Obsidian guys, and story/character/faction role play driven open world.

Still, pumped, will wait for release/reviews etc. But cautious after F3.

I am so buying this.  I’m psyched.  Anyone seen the video yet?  Awesomeness in a box.

I loved both Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas when they came out, so it’s no surprise that I’m very extremely excited for this game. The only other games that I’m even more excited for are Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, and Half-Life 3 (soon, my brothers!).

The trailer looks great although I’m not quite sure about how I feel about having a voiced protagonist.

I loved F3. FNV is wasn’t as keen on. Really though, the best part about most bethsoft games is being able to mod them and tailoring them to suit your personal choice. I liked having all my raiders as female and naked; it was easier to tit/t~~~/headsshot them!

I completely forgot about the modding! Indeed, that is one of the best part about Bethesda games. I was particularly fond of the “Cube: Experimental” mod for Fallout 3, which is a mod re-imagining of a classic B movie called “Cube”. The weapons you get at the end were all either epic or hilarious, with one of the nuke launchers dishing out some pretty epic explosions.

Watched the trailer. …..It was okey, looks way better then F3 and FNV visually, which is good, dunno what an engine they use.
….overall, gameplay, story, role play wise Im morally prepared to receive a sub par Fallout game from Bethesda.

I can only hope they will actually work on the game, and not wait for mods to fix and add value. I hope for the best. But Im very skeptical.

only thing that worried me from the trailer was the main character talking to the dog. I always prefer to be a silent main character in these types of games if possible but I am still sure it will be great

Although, I did enjoy Shepard in the Mass Effect series. I did get tedious every time i walked into a store on the citadel though.

I would much rather a silent protagonist for fallout though. There is a suggestion that you can only play as a male for the main story arc. No doubt that will get the girls screaming.

it does work for some games – Mass Effect wouldn’t have made sense without a talking character as it was so story based but stuff like Elder Scrolls and Fallout are more about the game world and finding your own place in it so a silent main character works better imo

excellent news. If the rumours are true that it is out this year it will mean no matter how much the SJWs moan nothing will be changed for the release as they won’t have time (although I will expect review points being knocked off by mangina reviewers for that reason)

This is the video game that will probably make me buy a new generation console.

I really liked the mechanics of the silent character as well. But I don’t think this one will be silent. They can reach deeper stories if they do use a voice and since everyone is doing I think they will too. It can either be a hit or miss. Just like Commander Shepard

    @fullmetalexo

I still found Fallout3 better. I think it was because even though it had less material the main quest was much better and the environment was in large city. Plus the radio stations and three dog. I don’t want to set the world on fire is a perfect song for the entire series.

It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything

Simple. That would involve thinking. You know, identifying a real problem like say, women being mistreated in the third world. Then she’d have to go out there to , you know, some place where the toilet is a hole in the ground rather than the throne she is so used to, where the aircon is nonexistant and there might be the possibility of real bullets flying about. Then, she would have to defend her victim. So poor mistreated 3rd world lady getting beat up, I have trouble imagining Anita having the strength of her convictions actually tested like that.

Besides, gaming is a soft target and she can stay at home near her unicorn supply and endless rainbow candy that falls from the sky.
