Extend the time for editing posts?

Just a suggestion, is it possible to extend the time for post edits or just leave it open entirely?

There is a thread at the moment that the OP would like to edit but can’t. It seems a bit of overkill and unnecessary work for everyone to send emails etc to have it done later when they could just do it themselves?

Well, you can always post again on the same thread to retract or clarify what you already wrote.

As for me, I’ve had too many bastards edit their posts to change their arguments when I caught them in a contradiction (that’s why I now always quote the post I’m responding to).

I prefer to see people take responsibility for what they write and say. Let it be set in stone. It makes people think a bit more carefully before they start spewing ignorant bulls~~~.

That is true. In this case though the OP had posted an email address which can’t be retracted with another post.

I get what you mean though, I sometimes quote people on forums where they can edit at any time to avoid them doing that.

In rare occasions it might be advisable to contact the admin to have a post deleted which might compromise your anonymity.
