Just a really quick and silly post just for fun and slight curiosity from a work place.

I work with a manager, lets call her Sarah for now.

Now Sarah does this very weird thing when she will pass me and put her hand on my arm mostly or another non private or intimate body part and do this very strange light rubbing or light dragging of her hand if she is passing by me for some odd reason.

I don’t have to worry about anything right now but keeping my self closely guarded just in case.

and thought it was really weird not experienced that much in other jobs

thoughts ? am i just looking too much into nothing like i think i am ?

Document it and film it if possible then go to HR. If you get into a position of having to reject her advances she may go to HR saying that YOU were harassing/touching her. Stay as far away from her as you can and I’d also keep any conversations with her kept to strictly work related topics and absolutely so socializing with her out of work. Nothing about this will end well if you do not take steps to protect yourself.

In the sorts of places I usually work, no. Of course, I’ve generally worked in departments staffed by only men. When I worked in product development for a company that made arts and crafts materials, where the women outnumbered the men, it happened occasionally. I ignored it and didn’t acknowledge any of it. In particular, one department manager liked to touch the backs of my hands. Yeah, odd. There was no “going to HR” there because it was a small business and there was no “HR” per se.

One story: I worked in an office of about 25 people. The CEO’s secretary thought she ran the company and was a real dunce. She thought she was hot and often dressed suggestively. One day, in the winter, a group of us (men and women) are standing their talking. She walks up, wearing a low cut white short sleeve shirt, snuggles up next to me and says “Brrr. It’s SO cold in here.” Without thinking, I quickly said “Well, maybe if you wore more clothes you wouldn’t be so cold.” Everybody laughed, and she just gave me a look and walked away.

Later one of the women that was standing there came in my office and told me that I was their hero. Apparently she did that all the time with the bosses a level up from me and they ate it up.

So, yeah I’ve seen it before. And I would be cautious. It’s inappropriate. Period.

I had a manager from another dept. that would come and press her hand against the small of my back and then run it around in a circle. She did it a few times whenever we met and first time I just thought it was a nice gesture of friendship(the work kind). But she did it again, and I know she likes me, but I honestly think it’s just a cheap “gina tingle” for her.
I have noticed over my lifetime how owmen have this surreal attitude toward “touch” there is a “good touch,” and “bad touch,” for them.

I would keep my guard with her.

There was a rather attractive 50-something woman at work who had a nice rack. She would often lean over the men’s shoulders to see something on the computer monitor and rub her t~~~ against their shoulders. Never did it to me, though.
