Here are my opinions on our pandemic.
1. Covid-19 started in China and while some think it came from a lab and was man-made, Dr Fauci negated that argument. Presumably, because he knew the virion genetic splicing points to say that it could NOT be man made.
2. Idiots who believe it has some thing to do with 5G cell towers and are going so far as to vandalize these towers, need time in prison and a stat psychiatry appointment.
3. We need to go back and look hard at pig to human transmission. Here are my reasons. Firstly, last fall China had a huge problem with pigs dying at the tiny piglet 7-10 days stage and lost 80-100% percent of the young stock. They even banned Canadian pork exports ( due to being p~~~ed off we arrested the daughter of Wahwei founder Meng Wanchow).. but more importantly they suddenly changed their minds were no pigs left domestically.
4. Pigs have four types of Coronaviruses that I know about, at least two of which we get they are Coronavirus – beta and Coronavirus – delta and we get it as a common cold. No big deal.
5.Fast forward to pork producing plants in South Dakota, where not many people live and fully one half of that states cases worked at the plant.
5. same thing in Alberta where the biggest outbreak was a meat processing plant, and while mostly beef here, the important thing is the plant ALSO did hogs.
6. It took ages for the WHO to actually call it a “pandemic” (for more than a month they didn’t want to use the word until, they PROVED human to human transmission).
7. Similarly, it may be hard to prove pig to human transmission and some of the adult pigs might not be that sick.
8. It’s the 7-10 day pigs that died and China may regret throwing away that tissue that likely no longer exists.
9. I think that group of pigs gave it to humans and that’s far more likely than wild China conspiracy theories.
10. It’s nobody’s fault and every country was behind in swabs, reagents, and distribution of testing. Canada was no better than Trump–we have large area country and getting PPE and tests on the shelf for the worker is always a problem. We are not Lichtenstein.
11. We all need to go back and look at the pig very carefully, to find the smoking gun and market ready pigs are 220 lbs, not little tiny neonates.
12. Vaccines will take a while, but it’s worth noting stability of SARS- type 1 hasn’t changed much since 2004, and much flu vaccine even now is 2009 formula and still works. We just never made a SARS- type virus (companies didn’t invest given expense and short-lived pandemic)
13. Had they done so, we’d have a vaccine (hindsight is always 20/20 isn’t it.
14. The reason for social isolation is the arterial blood gas picture looks like readings from camp 4 and “the balcony” at 8000 meters at an ascent of Mount Everest, so unless you think you are ready for an ascent of Mount Everest, be aware what you are doing to people when you don’t social distance. Ask yourself are you fit enough for an 8000 meter ascent…only 400 meters from the summit of Mt Everest. That’s why health care workers are saying what they are saying.
15. IgG based vaccines may not work and the real approach is to get a vaccine that attacks the spike protein on virus surface before it attaches to the ACE system.
16.We need a blood anti-clotting agent that attacks factor XII to XIIa and block that. Believe it or not the clots continue even with heparin and warfarin. Seriously, I did an ultrasound a 19 year old with a heart attack, released from hospital, zero underlying conditions & anti coagulated already….and he’s STILL FORMING CLOTS WHILE BEING ANTI COAGULATED. This is hell on earth for doctors!! Social distance please.
17. No it doesn’t transmit through air or air vent systems.
18. Yes you can infect yourself by not taking off your face mask properly.
19. There are 109 vaccine attempts being developed and we have to mentally prepare for many to fail, just like the Chloroquine drug Trump was so in favor of (I think he had company stock- that would explain it)
20. I watch US news not to hear what Trump says, but what Dr.Anthony Fauci says. The economy will not come back to normal until there is a vaccine.
