    So, this is happening. And it’s not funny. At all.

    So ANZ Bank (Australia and New Zealand Banking Group), the third largest bank in Australia and the largest bank in New Zealand, will pay an extra $500 a year to every woman who works for their banks. They are currently passing around an internet hashtag called “#EqualFuture” in order to spread the practice to the minds of other companies and their bosses and CEOs.

    Here is the exact synopsis from the news website The Australian:

    “Rather than talking about helping women progress, ANZ Bank will beat its rival banks and major corporates today by promising an extra $500 a year employer super contribution for its 12,700 female staff in Australia, as part of a raft of benefits aimed mainly at women.”

    Gender discrimination at its sharpest.

    Another thing is that if you claim to be transgender and identify as a female, you also count in this.

    Hell give them $1000 a year. They will still bitch and moan …. but … will still do less for the money.

    There is no amount of money …. that will make women equal …. because they’re not.

    NEVER use a bank that can’t see that men and women are different. If they can’t see that ….. what else will get past them?

    Best thing that can happen is the men leave the bank so all the women will get the money ….. then the cost is passed on to …… us.

    Reading the Facebook comments they shot themselves in the foot within a day of the ad going live:

    while we have parity in salaries for women and men in equivalent roles, our numbers show that the superannuation account balance for female employees are still lower. Reasons for this include larger numbers of female employees working part time and/or taking time out to care for families

    So, they pay their staff the same money for doing the same job for the hours they actually work, therefore they have equal pay, but, because women choose to work less hours they’re looking to pay them more to make sure they have the same pensions in retirement, in the words of one of their (Female) supporters:

    …trying to create equality in a situation that is currently in unequal

    To her I say, the situation is not unequal at all, the company pays the same salaries for women and men in equivalent roles, you make the same money for doing the same job for the same hours, if you choose to work less hours for whatever reason you will have less saved for retirement and thus a lower payout in retirement, you get out what you put in, that is equality.

    Quite simply the is anti-male discrimination and any UK firm, bank or otherwise, that does this will lose my business and if I happen to work for them they’ll be losing my labour in short order as well.

    So is their a legit case for men within that company to sue for sexual discrimination? I imagine if a case did exist it would be rather open and shut.

    These fenale workers will shed tears when they realizw this free extra money is neither free nor extra at all. It will be sucked from other programs, benefits plans, and the labor of others. This payment system will fail. The banks will pay more money for the same level of work from women. You cannot sustain a system that gives more than it receives.

    I have discovered a truly remarkable list of reasons why women are not necessary for a happy life, but alas this margin is too small to contain it.

    Man- works 2050 hours a year for $10/hour, gets 2 weeks paid vacation, 10 sicks days. Makes $20,500

    Job “A”
    Woman- works 1500 hours a year also for $10/hour, gets 2 weeks paid vacation, 10 sick days. takes 550 hours off compared to her male counterpart for reasons (during which her workload will almost certainly be being covered by said male counterpart for no extra pay). Makes $15000 (same rate times hours worked) but gets an extra $500 boost to her retirement savings because FEMALE.

    No less open and shut to any logical and rational individual.

    I definitely suspect there is more to this hiding in the small print – the bank know the femiloonies will lap it up and it will get good press but lurking in the background they will be removing a good, but expensive to them, benefit such as private healthcare (that is a big perk in the UK because the nhs is s~~~ but unsure in Aust/NZ) but the retarded women can only see as far as their own nose so won’t join the dots and realise they are getting screwed over

    So what about the single Dad’s who are doing it tough because the legal system sees them as second class citizens? Also women get plenty of handouts from the government for having children; and, if they’re single mums they get more in family benefits + child support from the father.

    ANZ have always been c~~~s, but this is ridiculous.

    ANZ are throwing money around like confetti, I don’t know what the hell is going on there or who is running the joint. When my credit rating was in the toilet a couple years ago (yay marriage! yay!) they gave me a 0% balance transfer credit card on the spot – no checks – when no-one else would touch me. They also gave me a bike loan when no one else would, albeit at an extortionate interest rate. (I have since got my house in order, btw).

    GFC? What GFC? Deregulate and full speed ahead!

    If I worked there, I dare say I’d identify as female to get that $500 and drop the word ‘harassment’ in front of anyone who looked sideways at me over it.
