I think it’s best to focus on your end game. Where do you want to go in life? What do you want to do? Do you want to own a big ass mansion? Or maybe hang out with friends and drinks some beers and be happy that way? Everyone will tell you what you need to make you happy, some say it’s a woman, a family, a nice car, ect. You need this and that.

Only you can decide what you want from life, and I want to give something to consider when you go to work. You can spend your life working your ass off to make money, but in the end, you aren’t being paid by your employer. Your employer is buying your time, and no matter how much they pay you, when it comes your time to die, it will have never been enough. You can’t take it with you when you go, so be happy.

Money is freedom, and a way to facilitate your happiness. But make sure to be happy. Live your life, whatever that is to you. To me, it means cooking out and grilling on the weekends, sometimes it means just chilling out and being online. Sometimes it’s splurging and buying myself something nice. But I will say that some of the best times I’ve ever had are with a couple buddies, and 20 bucks worth of beer. Money is great, and it has many uses, but remember to save it as a safety net for security, and be happy. Nothing else matters.

    @silverstone the Second;

I’m in complete agreement. A case of beer and a few true friends sounds a lot better than the rat race I long since left behind.

I agree, some of my best times have been ATVing in the backcountry with buddies far removed from civilization.
You won’t find any f~~~ing Pokemon Go hunters there!
Most regular folk waste their lives pining for what some douchebag celebrity has thinking it will bring them happiness. Instead they shouldn’t be worrying about what someone else has but rather what they themselves have and finding happiness within that.
It’s no wonder our material obsessed society is so f~~~ed up,money like a firearm is just a tool, there is no good or bad to it and it’s up to the individual to use both correctly and wisely.
All I know is I won’t be the one sitting in some retirement home years from now full of regrets and thinking ‘if only I…..’

Absolutely could not agree more. Sure, I don’t make a lot of cash and sometimes I wish I could go out more but some of the best times I ever had were chilling with my buddies and just having fun. Don’t need no money for that.

I want to be an entertainer in life like a comedian or any other career out in the field.

In which i may move around place to place and visit parts of the world which i have never seen.

Making a moderate to high income off of it to which i want to potentially buy multiple houses or own a couple of apartments in all sorts of places either from new york city to los angles to even parts of western europe.

Maybe ill smoke some weird s~~~ on the way, Maybe ill end up getting arrested a few times and maybe ill end up in a couple of fights but i want to live an experience.

Maybe ill have a kid (with no marriage of course) that i would want to name after myself that i would want to become even better then me one day and to spread my genes to at least one person so i technically do my duty to the world without getting in the trap of marriage.

To which afterwards in 20 to 80 years from now i will die but i will die knowing i have lived.

Just an east coast asshole who likes to curse, If you get offended by words like fuck, cunt, shit, piss, bitch or any racial slurs then you just scroll down.

I want to have enough cash saved up so I don’t have to worry about making a living anymore. F~~~ a big mansion. The smaller your house, the smaller your tax payments. My buddy owns a $400,000 house and has to pay more than $700/month just in property taxes. F~~~ THAT S~~~. That is NOT freedom. That’s slavery.

I would like a car, truck, motorcyle, and some other form of odd transportation, like a trike or some quads, a lotta cash, and a decent modernistic house.

Condo/bungalow in a rural town by a large lake. A basic car for transportation. Enough money to maintain my standard of living and cover against any unforeseen events.

I plan to keep working as long as I can though. That’s what my grandfather and his brother did and they survived into their 80’s and 90’s in fair health.

Definitely man. When I got done with college and got my first job I’d actually consider a career, I was considering buying a house and a second car just because I could afford it. Extra taxes and insurance alone would have cost me roughly 10k a year. I’d rather just keep my condo and my one car that works great for what I need it for and save that money.

Looking at the end game here…I could go pay 300k for a house and a sport car and addition to the taxes/insurance mentioned above…I’d also have extra maintenance costs and interest on loans to pay…meaning 30 years from now that house/sports car would cost me well over a million dollars, or I could just invest what I would have spent on that s~~~ and after years of compounding end up with millions. I could end up +2,000,000+ instead of -1,000,000+. I wouldn’t buy a fancy house or a sports car if they came with a 3 million dollar sticker price, so why would I knowing that is what they will end up costing me over time…just the price is well hidden.

Yup. My house that I own 100% outright with no debt is worth about $250,000. I have enough cash that I could go tomorrow and buy a $500,000 house that’s twice the size, and much newer and nicer. BUT then I’d have to pay double my current taxes, the more expensive upkeep, higher electricity and gas bills, all for what? So I can walk more? Because that’s basically what a bigger house would do for me. It would make me have to walk farther to get to the kitchen/bathroom/whatever.

Honestly my house needs 3 rooms: 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, and 1 kitchen. I don’t need a f~~~ing living room. It’s just a room used to sit in. I can sit in my bedroom thank you very much. Just look how the Japanese live. They live in those tiny 1 room apartments out of necessity because property prices/rent is so damned high there. But honestly, I’d be fine living like that. I wish I could buy a nice house around that size for $100,000. Unfortunately the closest there is to that is a condo, and I don’t want to pay association fees and have neighbors sharing a wall with me.
