In your opinion, what are the absolute most important books for a basic education? What is in your private library? If you had to design school for your own children, what would you teach them?
1. The Bible.
2. The writings of America’s founding FATHERS
3. A good/balanced world history book.
4. NO fiction. When women lead, destruction is the destination. -- Me.
It is hard to beat the “McGuffey Readers” and the “Ray’s Arithmetic” which are still in print after more than a century.
A friend showed me a sixth grade McGuffey Reader. It would be college level these days. No kidding.
I happen to know many home school groups use them.
Edit: You may have noticed many winners of those national spelling bees and math bees are home schooled.
Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?
Ayn Rand “objectivism”
The philosophy of becoming a rational individual must be taught.
Peace brothers
Anonymous6The Bible
All of the books from Plato, Aristotle, Socrates and John Locke.
The Constitution
The Books written by the Founding Fathers
Edgar Allen Poe’s entire bibliographyMarvel’s history of Venom = So he knows his dad is a badass of course.
I’d also include financial literacy books in there
It seems basic business and math skills are becoming
extinct in this consumer debt driven society.
Lifes a bitch, but you don't have to marry one!
I’d say any and all religious texts. I’m an atheist, but I’ll admit that there are some wise words in there. Some interesting concepts about the soul, spirituality and so on from east Asia.
Feminism is a movement where opinions are presented as facts and emotions are presented as evidence.

I actually read like about half of this book on objectivism that was written by Ayn Rand’s disciple.
It got really boring because a lot of the stuff was common sense that I already knew. The book was saying things like,”if lava is going towards you, you are going to actually get burned to death, because our realities are actually real” or something like that. I couldn’t believe I was actually reading this in a book somewhere. It is not Ayn Rand’s fault though, because she was not the one who actually wrote the book.
"Question everything" - Albert Einstein
1984
Animal Farm
Fahrenheit 451
Brave New World and Brave New World Revisited
Ayn Rand – Atlas Shrugged, Anthem and The Fountain Head
Some Alan Watts
Any Religious Texts influencing modern society
Aesop Fables
Shel Silverstein works
The Little Prince (at thee adult level and really study it)
Dale Carnegie – How to win friends and influence people)
Code of Hammurabi (to understand the begin’s of law)
Any decent book on logical fallacies (Logically Fallacious: The Ultimate Collection of Over 300 Logical Fallacies)
The Art of War
All the old stuff already mentioned (Plato, Confucius etc etc)If you rescue a damsel in distress, all you will get is a distressed damsel.
I would love to see an all MGTOW Univ. With a mix of everything you need Economics, Boxing, Arts, Martial arts, science, problem solving, taxes, cooking, sewing, automotive, guns to interior decorating- you name a skill include it.. Offer a complete list of knowledge and skills, all away from any female influence. Mentor and promote good character and self reliance with these skills. Teach them how to critically evaluate things and how teach themselves. Like a boarding school, but for the high achievers, not degenerates.

Very good idea. I also think that maybe we would teach people critical thinking skills so that it can help people think smarter when they decide on some of the serious life decisions they are going to make in their lives. Critical thinking skills is something that I developed in life and is something that I realize you need a lot of, especially if you are surrounded around a lot of bullsh*t.

I second this motion, and if you open the school, I will attend it. Seriously, I will. I neglected my education. I had ultimately no concept of how important it actually was, as well as little to no parental guidance. In addition to that, I took the “follow your heart” path, which is fairy tale rubbish.
1. Economics in One Lesson by Henry Hazlit
Misogynist - A man who hates women as much as women hate one another.
Any book that teaches to you to live off the land and also allows you to develop your own technology for ruling over that said land.
Brilliant thread by the way, this is what I wanted to accomplish with my Bible thread but I missed the target.
Iliyad and Odyssey
Charles Dickens works
Mark Twain worksThe problem with so many children, is they have no vocabulary to properly communicate. It is ‘f’ this and ‘f’ that, making young men seem irrational and uneducated, even if they are intelligent. They need a good amount of literature that teaches the diversity of language and a better vocabulary. Watch ‘My Fair Lady’ for a good example of why, as that is a good parallel to the real world.
I personally have hundreds of books in my library.
Reading is a recent hobby but I developed intellectually more from favorite economists and historians off nightly podcasts, youtube, and audibles. The internet is the world’s information at your fingertips without censorship. I stress the importance of classical economics since it really is a study of human action and how the world around us works. I noticed a divide between fiction and non-fiction supporters. Young men knowing only the “F” word as both a noun and a verb is tragic. I can see utility in classic fiction as a means to improve vocabulary. I too watch classic movies and long for such idealism but without the White Knighting. Favorites include Shane, The Proud Rebel, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, Winchester 73, Red River, The Shop Around the Corner, etc..
My starting book collection:
The Law – Frederic Bastiat
Conceived in Liberty – Murray Rothbard
The Rise of American Civilization – Andrew and Mary Beard
Ludwig Von Mises – Dr. Isreal Kirzner
Swords and Plowshares – Ron Paul
Understanding Coyotes -Michael Huff
Predator Calling – Gerry Blair
Tying Nymphs Volume 1 and Tying Dry Flies Volume 1 – Randall KaufmannMisogynist - A man who hates women as much as women hate one another.

You need both sides of text, informational and vocabulary building. These books that I mention give us a glimps of how life was veiwed in these times, making them great history books to the keen mind.
The vocabulary that they develop is crucial. For example:
“Why would I need a f~~~ing wife to spend all of my f~~~ing money, F~~~ that.”
“What benefit would it be to me, to invest in a relationship that uses up all of my assets and only adds liabilities. This is not a wise investment.”
This first statement is something said in argument to a feminist from a man, who, while being correct, gained no respect or acknowledgement for his point, and was jeered by onlookers for being so crude.
The second sentence is something I said to a woman with her friends, when she tried to say marriage would be good for me to try again. She went on about love after, which was quickly disregarded as purely emotional behavior. She still hates me, but I earned a respect that keeps the jeers and rude behavior at a minimum, as it only makes them look bad. In turn, my life is more peaceful, and the feminist avoid arguing with me as much.
Taking the high road doesn’t mean getting walked on and not fighting back. It means not going on their level of conversation and walking all over their arguments instead.
Another example of an educated response to this kind of thing: Woman seeking a rich man.
