after fact checking, the wanker economist had a false divorce rate.. the actual number being 2.0/1000 in 2015 or 48517. That same year saw 113595 marriages. So divorce is 0.427 times marriage rate.

It’s impossible to determine the divorce rate, government lies so much. Just eyeballing it and looking around is between 75-90 %. Even if it was 50-53 % like the government says, most of the others want to get divorced but can’t.
My grandfather was married 6 times, wished he could have did alone.
My Dad was married once, had a “successful marriage” as they never divorced and told me to never get married.

The media pressure will increase. this goes back to a point raised by TAXGUY months ago. Men generate 70% of the income but only spend 35% of it. Women spend 65% but only earn 35%. Thus if men increasingly deny their resources to women the economy (which is based upon consumer spending) is in BIG f~~~ing trouble and they know it. Too Bad SOOOO sad. After correspondence with the reporter, I have sorted out the discrepancy. He was quoting 5.3 divorces per 1000 married people (rather than all people that was the marriage rate), which works out to be 2/1000 of the general population. I did not read his article correctly: on the other hand it was a statistical slight of hand. I like that the writer responded promptly to my email rather than go through slanging him off in the comments section like a SJW would.

It’s so easy to get a handle on marriage. How many people got married that year. But with divorce, what’s a true measure? How many people got divorced THAT YEAR? What percentage of marriages ended in divorce THAT YEAR? How many total marriages end in divorce? Too much wiggle room to make the statistic say what you want it to say.

Great post! I was very content with being a dad when I was married. I loved the daily grind because I love my kids and they were fun to be around most of the time.

The wife? Yeah, not so much. The truth is I probably would have moved out when my youngest moved out. Just pack a few extra bags of clothes, drop her off at college and keep going. The thought of just me and her after the kids had moved out gave me nightmares.

I had just read an article about marriage. Check this out. I have been thinking about this for a while and I believe that marriage is basically a scam in this day and age. There are few benefits to it. If one person has a large financial edge over their partner, divorce would destroy them because of the alimony checks. Prenups will have to be signed to avoid this.

I was put last for so long that I didn’t care, while my warm feelings for the woman that once was withered away. One kid to go, three years then she can try to catch the vapors in the wind.

The sucked part is guys who fall in to one of the above other than divorced and die while still married are counted as a success by marriage statistics, even though we know their marriage was a failure and a bad deal for them.

The problem with a prenup…why bother signing the marriage contract if you know you need to sign a prenup to help minimize potential damage from said marriage contract…just don’t sign the marriage contract and you won’t have to worry about the prenup.

Good points Beer! The point of marriage is to sacrifice yourself to create children … I can not think of any marriages that have strengthened after that goal was achieved. I have yet to find a woman that loves her husband as much as ‘her’ children. And Wallinated women get the cash and prizes when kids are involved regardless of prenups. Society gives them a massive break at their husband’s expense.
