I understand I’ve made a lot of threads on here lately but I just got this game yesterday and have to talk about it.
Of course right now it’s only just come out in Japan but you can import from play-asai which I usually do or you can buy digital psn points from there and with a japanese PSN account you can download it which I did cuz I was impatient and might be moving soon so I didn’t want to deal with changing addresses in shippin n stuff. In any case so far it is a great game.
That said so far only 8 missions in I’m uncertain whether to call it an improvement over the last one. I understand it’s a sort of B movie theme but well, the thing is a lot of the assets are similar to the ones in 4.1, which was basically almost a port of 2025. So a lot of it feels kind of old. but then some of the new stuff is pretty cool. It’s difficult to say because a lot of stuff isn’t in english so I can’t tell what everything is unfortunately.
All that said I feel kind of devoted to the series. Just fun without any nonsense a lot of games have today. Feel very nostalgic about 2017. Insect Armageddon didn’t have the same charm but it wasn’t bad. D3 did a facebook giveaway for 2025 which I was one of two winners of, which I was very greatful because at the time I didn’t have a job, so I kinda feel like I owe them even though I bought both japanese and english versions of 4.1.
Is anybody else crazy like me or will you wait for an english release? I could import Yakuza Kiwami 2 right now but I wouldn’t understand a word of it so I’m unsure, I like being able to play Yakuza 6 early but I got stuck and can’t seem to continue due to language barrier. I also did it with Senran Kagura Peach Beach Splash and am not even interested in buying it now so eh. i might rethink importing more in the future. I did get the japanese version of EDF2 though, cuz the only english version of that is on the Vita which I have no intention of getting at all.

Gaming threads are always good to add, it’s a minefield out there so any recommendations are appreciated. I started gaming again thanks to the boys here recommending GTA5.

Is this on PS4? I might have to look into it.
I’ve been a big fan of Japanese style games, mainly RPGs. I tried learning the language for a bit because of this, but I only know enough to figure out most menus…
I dabble in imported stuff occasionally. I last imported the Asian version of Dead Or Alive Xtreme 3 from PlayAsia. The PSVR support is amazing! – maybe the only true safe way to perve on beautiful women these days…

(First time trying to link to content, so apologies if it screws up)
Yep, PS4 exclusive! It’s not quite an RPG, more just a simple shooter, but there is grinding if you want everything.
Kinda gives that b movie vibe in the trailer.
So far the language isn’t a huge concern, at least as far as functionality goes.
Funny thing, I accidentally got the Japanese version of DOAX3 first and for a long time I considered whether it was worth it to waste more money on the Asian one. Eventually I did and got the Platinum for it.
Wanted to try out the VR, but PSVR seemed really expensive for just one game. They did announce a free Last Guardian themed VR game the other day so maybe that will push me to get it. Even so I’m trying to save for a Switch for No More Heroes and now Bayonetta 3. Tough choice, may just have to wait for tax returns to decide.
