Anyone watch any of it yet? I’m not even certain what all has been shown or what’s yet to come. Usually I’m on top of things but I haven’t had much time lately what with changing jobs and being busy with other real life stuff.

I did manage to watch the Microsoft conference at least. Not a lot of good since I got rid of my Xbox One but I’m sure many will end up on PS4 anyway.

The one game that really stood out was Fromsoft’s new project. At first glance it looks Souls-ish but it seems there’s much needed changes in movement and general fluidity, as well as a more distinct art style.

For everything else that was shown, I can’t say much of it was very memorable. I guess I’ll wait and see what Sony and Nintendo announce. Hoping for something on No More Heroes.

Assassins Creed Odyssey looks incredible but it’s probably because I’m Greek and biased lol

These electronic shows were actually good when they focused on actual geek stuff. You know, computers. I couldn’t care less about smartphones or XBOX games or stupid apps. Even the computers are lackluster. “Oh, this computer is 1mm thinner than last years model!” Who gives a flying s~~~? Now give me more ports, a bigger, fatter, longer lasting battery, and make it easy to upgrade/repair and I’ll get excited about it.

The less said about The Lesbian Last of Us 2 the better…just go to One Angry Gamer or Niche Gamer and read the comments to see what most people are thinking

I’ve watched all the keynotes. The Microsoft and Bethesda ones were were the best , those were saturday. Sony’s was weird besides what they showed of Last of us and Spiderman, Square Enix was horrible, Ubisoft was meh. Usually I like Ubi stuff but wasn’t feel’in anything they showed except possibly Division2.

Their new Assassins Creed game i’m having trouble figuring out how this is an assassins creed game. The guy gets a weapon and gets all these powers . How is that Assassins creed? How does this guy fit into the Order of Assassins. To me it seems like they built an action game and stuck the assassins creed brand on it to make sales, ive seen nothing so far that makes this an AC game at all. Plus they’re dropping that in October, same month as Red Dead Redemption. good luck Ubi with that.

I’m disappointed that there’s no Pikmin 4 or Metroid 4 this year

Nintendo doing their usual games drought

One game I forgot to mention was Cyberpunk. Can’t believe it didn’t cross my mind.

I can’t rightly say I know what Death Stranding is about, but the one thing I’m most certain of is it seems another stealth game more in line with horror than action, and that perhaps the storytelling will be more akin to something like Silent Hill, at least in plot details being deliberately vague. I’ve seen some videos taking apart previous trailers, and with this latest one I am pretty confident in saying the main thing has to do with the older generation attempting to sacrifice the new in order to sustain themselves. The past literally can not let go of the present.

I won’t say it’s nonsense, in fact many of Kojima’s games bludgeon you with heavy handed story and say “DO YOU GET IT NOW?!” which really annoys me, compared to more subtle stuff from Yoko Taro or things that are actually abstract from Goichi Suda. That and, perhaps some will think I’m reaching, but he’s not always original, just seems to take whatever he likes and steals, from the smoking animation in MGSV to the idea of not breathing to attract enemies being all but ripped from Deadly Premonition. Perhaps the latter is just something common in Japanese horror tropes, though.

In any case, between those and based on principle of Kojima painting Konami to be a villain, when he was responsible for exhausting resources without thought before leaving the company (not unlike a woman), I will not be purchasing Death Stranding.

I can’t say I’ve had much interest in Assassin’s Creed, unfortunately. Maybe one day I’ll try the first two again, but 3 and 4 failed to hold my interest for long. Thing is now, I don’t know much about the story but I get the feeling it may be too late to just jump in now, and I don’t feel like playing most of the others to even bother with.

I enjoyed the first Last of Us, didn’t mind the fact Ellie was apparently lesbian, but it gets to a point where it gets annoying when the intent behind it is transparent as hell. Perhaps the Mass Effect series is a good example; no one really complained about some of the relationships you could have in the first few games, but in Andromeda it seemed you couldn’t go a minute without it at the forefront, for no other reason than to be a blatant “I’m progressive” billboard for all the journalists to praise.

No Metroid Prime 4 was disappointing, but I kind of prefer it this way; if they really don’t have much to show, I’d rather not go multiple years wondering why they have all this footage and yet are not releasing the game. Especially in the past with stuff like Twilight Princess where the final product may as well be an entirely different game than advertised at the start.

Mostly I’m just happy to have Snake and David Hayter back in Smash, as well as finally getting Ridley.

I did too – it is trendy amongst a lot of gamers to say how s~~~ it is but it was actually brilliant. I couldn’t care less if she is a lesbian or straight – I want none of that sex stuff in games and Druckman has come out and said he is rubbing it in gamers faces because they don’t want it (why I won’t buy it). Mass Effect is now a dead franchise and a lot more are about to go the same way – including The Last of Us

I just wish they would show a bit of M4 – even if it is just a lame teaser but oh well it is Nintendo! But one of my favourite franchises is Pikmin – put so many hours into those first games replaying them. Just innocent fun

Never been a fan of Smash Bros myself – enjoyed the N64 version but never been a fan even though so many great characters are in it these days

I don’t own a PS4 but after seeing the trailers for Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us II (couldn’t care less about the lesbian scene) and even Death Stranding, it’s tempting.

Games I’m looking forward to are Fallout 76, Maneater, Megaman 11 and Rapture Rejects.

Please don’t buy LOU 2 – the game won’t be a flop but the less people that buy it, the more it is two fingers to the SJW s~~~ that western devs are currently pushing

I almost exclusively play Japanese games these days and as much as the PS4 gets slagged off – it is an amazing console if you pick and choose your games right. Also PSVR is so good – Resident Evil 7 in VR is like the Zelda Ocarina of Time Hryule Field moment…amazing

I’ve made it a point not to bother with most games where the devs have said anything about either consulting people like Anita Sarkeesian or just promoting “social justice” in general. Maybe some of them are fun and I’m missing out, but that’s not as important as voting with my wallet and telling them this s~~~ sucks. Conversely, I try to support others that are attacked for this sort of thing, like Kingdom Come. Perhaps you could count Ghost of Tsushima as well, not as bad but uneducated folk were upset at the person who played the music for the demonstration.

I used to really like E3 but this year seemed underwhelming. Still haven’t bought a next gen console because of all the feminist bulls~~~ they’re putting in games, and they games just seem to be worse now. Won’t be getting Gears 5 because of how annoying that bitch in the trailer was, and won’t be getting battlefield V because, well, their political agenda is more important than a fun game. Still haven’t found a game convincing enough for me to buy a next gen console. Plenty of great old games out there I have yet to play so…

I won’t lie…only game I enjoyed on Xbox was Sunset Overdrive before I sold it. And for being the Nintendo fanboy I am, there’s not much on the Switch yet, but I’m holding out. Plenty on the PS4, but many games would probably be more suitable for weaboos rather than your average gamer.
