I didn’t want to hijack Onetruemisfit conversation so I am starting a new one.

How many of you dress down for stealth? Any pointers you would like to share with the lurkers?

    I will start.
Warm weather, jeans, t-shirt and work boots.

Cool weather, Same as warm weather but I add the carhart jacket I wore during my construction worker days. The thing is pretty beat up but it is warm enough for a light jacket.

Cold weather, I have new old stock surplus od green Army field jacket w/liner that I picked up at a outdoor show for 20 bucks. Looks like s~~~ but you are not going to find a warmer more durable coat for that price.

Keep weight up but only enough to deter.

    Drive Buicks

    Avoid public like plague

Keep the beard longer than shorter.

I guess I’m lucky, I grew up wearing t-shirt, jeans and sneakers, and I never saw a need to not be comfortable so it never changed. I dress up for work as I have to, it’s not stealth or dressing down for me outside of work, it’s just how I dress.

Outside of the office I dress for comfort which has the added benefit of acting like a goddamned cloaking device, I can walk into most social situations and be almost completely invisible to anyone I’m not specifically there to speak to.

Comfort is key, you’re going to be wearing it so it’s got to be good for you, personally I go for good quality and nothing pricey or flash. Work boots or shoes, jeans, combats, t-shirts or polos, sensible jackets, all non-branded not brightly coloured and bland as you like.

Also works out better on the wallet long term, for example.
For 50 notes you can buy one of two things:
    A single branded t-shirt
    – or –
    A dozen non-branded t-shirts
One of those choices will not only last longer in your wardrobe but is a hell of a lot less likely to attract the attention of a wallet hunter.

It can be. It has the opposite effect to when I go for my black jeans, t-shirt, leather jacket and smart boots look.
Tracksuit bottoms… instant turn off. Women instantly think “benefits claiment”!

Beat up car, renoult megane 2002. Old, but works like charm.

    T-shirt, jeans, confortable normal shoes.

Never use a suit. Bitches make correlations between suit and money. No tie, no shirts. Simple watch, but who needs it ? Everyone got a cellphone now.

I always look like a normal guy, people looks at and think I got some medium rare s~~~ty job. Sometimes someone who knows me greets me “hey doctor ” and I see the surprise in people face.

I wold not let my selft get fat, sorry that a no go zone.

To those following me, be careful, I just farted. Men those beans are killers.

For me it’s jeans and a t-shirt. Jeans worn slightly long so crinkly at the bottom. Black Nike sneakers, nothing special. No watch and usually a wrinkled t-shirt does the job nicely. I get plenty of comments about my dirty t-shirts and how wrinkled they are. Unfortunately my new job requires business casual dress so I’ll be stepping up the game with Khakis, probably Polos (haven’t gone shopping yet), and some basic dress shoes (which I already have).

Gonna get back in shape though, too much beer belly.

I’ve never really attracted much attention at bars, I’m a natural stealth. Hope it stays that way.

I dress smartly for work and on the weekend I still dress smartly.

I won’t go shopping dressed like a reprobate.

I feel like myself dressing smart casual, because I hold myself by those standards and feel comfortable in that manner.

Maybe it’s a British thing – or not so much these days, but I don’t dress to stealth.

Even if you look good and in good shape, it’s only a deterrent to women these days.

    Don’t wear this.

Avoiding eye contact is the way to stealth.

I think that you could go about your business without too many prying eyes wearing this t-shirt. Discrete is the word.

Come now Grue, you don’t have to get dressed up just for me.

T-shirts and jeans. Might grow out my neck hair. Can’t think of a reason not to.

    Regarding clothes/physical attire:

There’s a thread on here about wearing a suit and women’s response to it.

I was wearing a suit every day for work and I go out for drinks every night. The reactions from girls/women is insane. I can’t recall every story/time a girl would be so complimentary because of the suit, but there are a couple of times that stuck out.

Two sexy girls sitting next to me at a bar. They were literally LEANING into me as I’m sitting there minding my own business. I became accustomed to this, because of the suit. At one point one of the girls literally barked out –

“I’m FREE Tuesday!” While looking directly at me. We hadn’t said a single word to one another, yet she says this.

They are so fu$King superficial, it’s nuts.

There was another time a gorgeous girl literally started acting all ‘tingly’ right when I sat next to her in a suit. She IMMEDIATELY took her sweater off (to show off her tit$ in a low cut top) and started playing with her hair. She began asking a female friend of mine the run-down on me. Literally a laundry list of psychological questions: is he married? has he ever been married? etc, etc, ad-infinitum.

I could go on and on. They are so fu$king pretentious and superficial.

Have I ever had this reaction without a suit? Ya, sure, but NOTHING like this. It’s insane and I’m not bragging. I’m stating it was the suit/attire and that’s what they cared about.

    Resident cynic.

Summer time is cargo shorts, plain white t-shirt, and sandals. Winter time jeans, a hoodie, and sneakers. I always rock the baseball cap all year round lol. My clothes are always clean and free of holes so I don’t look like a slob or anything, I just don’t wear any jewelry or watches or buy any of the latest trendy overpriced clothing brands. I’m good with a Nike or Underarmor hoodies that aren’t all that expensive if you buy them on sale somewhere.

Stealth works great for cars too. I just drive a 4 door sedan, although the model with the nice engine, but most people are clueless about cars and don’t realize the difference between that and the much more common base model. I like my car, although its not something that screams I HAVE MONEY like if I went out and bought a sports car or a big truck.

If you ask people what I make or what they think my net worth is just by my appearance, my car, or my spending habits, they’d all guess a lot lower than reality. Its a double win as far as I’m concerned because it doesn’t make me a target for gold diggers and living below my means is going to get me to early retirement hopefully 20+ years before the typical retirement age.
