    men in video games

And to anyone who says having muscles is a power fantasy for men that is not true. Not every guy wants to be incredibly buff. I would never want to be as big as the guy on the far right. Also even if it is possible for men to look like Kratos, Chris, Leon, etc not every man could possibly get that much in shape not to mention just like seeing a big boobed size 0 women could affect younger girls seeing guys this ripped could affect younger boys lol.

Well that’s the real key isn’t it. For a guy to be in shape and super buff, it means many years at the gym, five days a week. For a chick to be in shape all she has to do is take the fork out of her mouth. The amount of effort a guy makes to be attractive to women is HUGE compared to the amount of effort women make. A guy has to work like a slave. A woman has to just not be a fat pig.
The female fantasy of a millionaire businessman with a Maserati AND washboard abs is just…

I don’t know if it’s a double standard. Men live vicariously through the characters we play, I don’t think women play with that same mentality. Most of the time I play as a female character anyway. I like to look at her ass as I’m running around killing villagers.

That is so true. I also tend to play as women characters when given the choice. They look prettier and in MMO’s it is nice to look at their ass while questing and their armor does show off their bodies lol.

At the moment Watchdogs and Mario Kart 8. I haven’t played either yet,but Watchdogs looks really cool. Other really good games are Tomb Raider, Injustice Gods Among Us, Assassins Creed, and Titanfall to name a few. If this person is into RPG’s than Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD edition, Dragon Age Origins, and the AMss Effect trilogy are good.

Hey thanks Bard. Assassins Creed sounds cool cause it has “ass” and “ass” in the name! JK, but I liked some poster graphics I saw for that and the trailer was cool. Thanks for getting back to me on that.

You mean the new one Assassin’s Creed Unity? Yeah that does look pretty cool I can’t wait. Also Ubisoft said it is the perfect starting point for new players. If you are buying Assassin’s Creed games for a gift or even yourself you could start with the first game or 2 if you want to. 2 is my favorite and does play better than 1 and the opening gives you a recap of 1 anyway. The game play in the first one is mostly about stealth over action while starting with 2 action and stealth play an equal role.

And I can’t believe I forgot to mention this in my first post, but another great game you could get for a gift, as well as your self because every guy should play it, is a game called Catherine. It came out in 2012, but it is amazing game. It deals with relationships and how men view women and feel about committing and/or just dating instead of getting married and everything in between that men and women go through while dating. It seriously has some great quotes about marriage and dating too. I seriously can’t recommend it enough. It is on ps3 and xbox 360. You can go buy a physical edition at gamestop or digital copy from psn or live.

I hate being buff. I practice Martial Arts and it also teaches you NOT to get buff. Here are few reasons:

    1. Being buff makes you slower. Strength can do little compared to techniques. And this can range from fighting to opening a bottlecap.
    2. Remember that you might be young and enthusiastic enough to workout now, but you will NOT be able to keep it up once you grow older. Then, your body will grow even more out of shape than not working out.
    3. Imagine a guy with buff muscles and a small thin guy with a black belt. They get into a fight, the big guy gets his ass kicked. Imagine what people would say: Huh! For all that muscle, he can’t even beat a puny guy. Well, all that muscle that you might think makes you look badass, just got you looking like a fool.
    4. The amount of time behind workouts and trips to the gym and the amount of money spent behind gym memberships and protein shakes would never be worth the results (Unless you are that kind of person).

I am not trying to discourage you guys from working out. I am just being a realist. If you really like the burn and the adrenaline rush, feel free to do Cardio. It will give you long term, lasting benefits as well as hours of fun. No need to waste away your muscles in order to grow more. And if you are like me, do try to get in Martial Arts. It’s a great way of life. Discipline, sports, exercise, focus everything in one package.

I’m a Blue belt in Kyokushin Karate (Not much, I know. I haven’t liked the art very much.) and 4th Dan in Ninjitsu (I loved every moment of it). The Ninjitsu dojo I went to, closed down about 8 years ago though, it was only then I joined Kyokushin. I’m thinking of joining a Tae Kwon Do Academy. So, that will be my suggestion if you are really trying to get into that.

Very good picture nord. I am sure if women had to choice to leave their warm and safe homes to go fight and possibly die in the cold many would not go.

Dkaikster I have never had a desire be buff either for a few reasons you said. Having all that muscle wouldn’t be worth it if I had to buy bigger clothes, had trouble sitting in a car or airplane seat, or moved slower. Of course you don’t see men complaining about all the buff guys in video games.

I’ve never stood the appeal of being really over muscled like that. I work out three times a week because hey, Military and the job gives me time off from work to do that so who am I to skip out on it but yeah. I’m mostly happy not being fat and being able to run a couple miles. Any one done any marathon training? I’ve heard the more you run the less it sucks but… I have my doubts.

There is a distinct difference I’d say, but Nord is clearly aware of ‘The ass rule’ I mean if you’re going to be looking at it for the next twenty hours…might as well right? I’ve never really felt less because Kratos is buff as can be or Brick is clearly too big. See them more as bros than an some one I’d try to be though. Maybe just me?

No it isn’t just you. Men don’t feel threatened by fiction characters. Kratos being buff doesn’t do anything to me either, I just see a really fit guy because he is a spartan and fights all the time. Naturally someone like that is going to be fit. When playing Gears of War I would always laugh at how the guys were too buff and macho. When playing Resident Evil 5 I didn’t like how Chris was more buff as I felt his body size in the first game and Code Veronica was fine, but I didn’t throw a fit like women do. Also I am the kind of person who has a problem when people get mad over stupid things in fiction worlds. I don’t see how women can get mad over size 0 girls with double D racks in a video game when the game world has things like super powers in it. If you can accept these characters live in worlds with powers then why can’t you accept that all people in the world look “perfect”. So what is a size 0 woman with double 0 t~~~ is not the norm, neither are super powers, but I don’t see women complaining about how super powers are not real and shouldn’t be in the game lol.

I am always ranting about this type of thing on here

the reality is gaming has gone more mainstream so a bunch of hipsters, feminists and their manginas have jumped on the bandwagon and want it all changed to suit them – it’s called gentrification

they want gaming to be seen as “art” so has to be pretentious as f~~~ and pander to useless women (notice how loads of them say they have been gamers for life and can barely name 3 characters outside of Nintendo games)
