Started playing through it again over the weekend and I absolutely love this game.
I understand the faults – repetitive, slow and a bit un-Doom like. But I love it
It can’t be beaten for atmosphere, has a nice range of guns and is just fun to play. It is also nice to play as a “boring space marine” again

love it

Anonymous1That game was scary as hell. I watched my cousin play most of it. I’m not big into FPS games, myself. Great Atmosphere and accompanying sound track.
I played the game for a while, but never got far. I do remember a vid of two French kids playing it in the dark and screaming their asses off when an imp jumped into sight and mauled their marine, lol.

It isn’t as scary as Alien Isolation but that game ripped off Doom 3 massively (D3 never got any credit for it)
Either way I will spend a portion of my bank holiday weekend completing it. Great way to spend 5-10 hours
While, I am glad you are enjoying the game, I am not a fan of stories where the main character goes into a location which would likely better to be nuked from orbit.
Doom3, Half-life, Quake, Unreal tournament, Diablo…
All were great games. I am STILL playing Fallout 4…

Doom 3 BFG is playable on Oculus Rift VR and it takes the game to an all new level of scary. Someone else mentioned alien isolation, it too has a VR mod to make it playable on Rift and that takes it to all new levels of scary as well. I’d say alien isolation is consistently recommended to anyone posting asking about a good scary game for VR.

I don’t think I could even bring myself to play Alien Isolation in VR – it is bad enough on a normal TV
Resident Evil 7 is as scary as f~~~ on VR but I reckon it’s a kids show in comparison to A.I
