We have all heard the cliché: “Don’t Mess with Texas” and to my brothers with big belt buckles and cowboy hats, it is very true. However, when Texans fought at the Alamo, there was an East Tennessean named Davy Crocket who brought 31 friends from Tennessee with him and died. You see, we think like Texans but we just have more mountains and good water. Many Texans came from here and we have the same thinking and are the same breed. Like Lynyrd Skynyrd sang: “Give me a “T” for Texas, Give me a “T” for Tennessee!” In fact, I would bet that our mountain folk are more pro-gun than most Texans.

The gun banners have little to say here but some high school kids still protest. Most of us have another message:

Don’t mess with East Tennesseans, this is the land of Sgt. York and he was our PACIFIST!. Tennessee passed a law last year saying TN law enforcement will not back federal confiscation of firearms. Why? Because even Nashville knows better than f~~~ with the mountain folk. They also know better than to mess with Knoxville because they know every block faces an ambush. Yea, the hillbilly has his shotgun but he has far more and you will do well if you make it to the traps on his mountain. It took the feds eight years to find one mountain man who messed with an abortion clinic from North Carolina named Eric Rudolph.

If you want to take my guns, it would not be wise to mess with an East Tennessean like me. I am a veteran trained by a SEAL and I will die before I give you a bullet not delivered to you on a very personal level.
We are good people who will help others but you do not want to p~~~ us off. We backed the North in the Civil War but we will not back D.C. when it comes to confiscation at ANY level!

It takes a special breed to p~~~ me off more than feminists but those are gun banners. Thankfully, most are of the same breed…

The following makes more sense in the argument about guns than anything I’ve heard so far. And yes I have a permit and go armed every day.

Over at The Daily Wire, Ben Shapiro sums up the problem with this perfectly.
    So, here’s what we know.
We know the FBI was warned specifically about the Parkland shooter not once, but twice — and did nothing.
We know the Broward County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the home of the Parkland shooter at least 39 times since 2010.
We know that the Broward County Sheriff’s Office was warned multiple times about the Parkland shooter.
We know that an armed officer was present during the shooting and did nothing — and that JROTC students showed far more courage.
And yet we are told that the solution to mass shootings is for law-abiding citizens to give more authority to the authorities that failed, and to turn over our only way of protecting ourselves?
Why in the world would a single law-abiding gun owner hand over his or her weapon to the same authorities that did nothing to protect the children of Parkland? Why would a single law-abiding gun owner turn over his or her capacity for self-defense to people who were incapable of defending children at every step of the way?

I ain't got a wife to spend my money, I have to do that all by myself.

Ex-Navy also, sonar tech, though spent most of it in the Reserves. I wish I’d stayed active. SEAL team 2 was around quite a bit. I’m not from TN though.

If I could get a decent, stable comparable job, east Tennessee sounds very tempting. I’d hate moving away from my oldest son, though.

Stuck with this lib-infested Maryland. I’m planning an underground “playground” that will be extremely unlikely to be found. I don’t care what laws the lib-tards pass here, my s~~~ isn’t going to be taken.

I figure it is a waiting game… eventually the system will implode and I’ll need all of my stuff to make it. I look at gun-confiscators as useless morons that are trying to throw up obstacles to my family’s future survival.

All my life I've had doubts about who I am, where I belonged. Now I'm like the arrow that springs from the bow. No hesitation, no doubts. The path is clear. And what are you? Alive. Everything else is negotiable. Women have rights; men have responsibilities; MGTOW have freedom. Marriage is for chumps. If someone stands in the way of true justice, you simply walk up behind them and stab them in the heart-R'as al Ghul.

It is in middle Tennessee but Nashville and the surrounding smaller cities are one of the fastest growing areas in the US. Lots of regional and national companies are moving to Nashville, bringing many jobs. East Tennessee is more slower growing due to idiot politicians that do little to encourage growth.

Texas has Austin, and many urban areas. Lots of transplants from more liberal parts of the nation. It’s rather divided these days. Houston, and probably some other cities are sanctuary. Things are relatively quite politically here, but it could start blowing up soon.

As for the phrase it self, it was the state’s slogan for reducing roadside trash.

    Ok. Then do it.

True, including companies like Beretta, since Maryland didn’t want those jobs. Amazing how the gun grabbers shoot themselves in the foot.
